A very old hotel but this is still the BEST hotel with Sea view in cheung chau. I just hope they have a better buffet and heater setting on AC during winter. So far I still recommend 👍

Big, cosy family room containing a big double bed, a bunk bed for 2 kids, and a dining table with kettle and tea plus a fridge. The snack basket was a nice surprise for the kids! Located just by Tung Wan Beach and kids playground which my kids love. Cheung Chau sports centre is just next door where kids can enjoy the free playroom in case of bad weather, while adults can book sports facilities too. We went to the sports centre each morning and evening to fill our water bottles with free filtered drinking water. The reception told us that breakfast is served as sets now, rather than buffet. Our booking did not include breakfast and we found great cafes near the pier, just before we started our hikes each day. We recommend Cheung Po Tsai cave and the beaches, which means you'll need to bring swimming and sandplay gear. You may book barbecue pits at the hotel and buy raw foods from shops nearby, but we haven't tried that and instead enjoy cooked food at local restaurants.

So close to the beach with amazing views! We even got to see helicopters up close, which was fantastic.

A bit of nice weather to walk around during the weekend. A surprise gift was received from the hotel. The breakfast area is good to see the sea view with the wind.

To be honest, the sea view and location are absolutely fantastic! The balcony room is totally worth it! The standard sea view room has a window, but it's sealed shut and can't be opened (which wasn't mentioned in the description... though they did open it for us when we asked, but the windowsill is so high you can't see the sea while sitting). I came prepared, but was still shocked by the room, especially the bathroom's condition. The daily cleaning was fine, but areas like behind the bathroom door and the tiles felt like they hadn't been maintained or properly cleaned in over a decade. We used half a pack of alcohol wipes to clean it; some of the black stains couldn't be removed, while others could (the bathroom really needs a deep clean! I can accept old decor, but as someone with OCD, I ended up cleaning it myself...). The overall decor and maintenance are worse than a guesthouse. However, the shower water pressure was good, though the showerhead couldn't be detached. In February, the room was much colder than outside. There was no heating or warm air conditioning, and the duvet wasn't thick enough. They provided an extra blanket, and I wore thermal underwear and fleece, then bought some heat patches from Wanning (they're excellent, staying warm for over 24 hours), and finally managed to sleep well (as someone from East China who gets cold easily...). Regarding the room upgrade, both Ctrip and the hotel surprisingly offered emotional and financial value. We cleaned the bathrooms of two rooms during our stay and got to see government helicopters up close. Downstairs, there are two beaches. Thanks for the million-dollar sea view!

1. The sea view is first-class. Facing East Bay Beach, the water quality is comparable to Xiamen Bay in Sai Kung, with clear water and fine sand. 2. The facilities are old, but the bed and bedding are comfortable, so I slept well. 3. It's next to a hospital, and there are fewer restaurants, but it's great for hiking. Highly recommended. The overall experience is even better than Golden Beach.

Very nice one night stay, the balcony view is perfect. Helpful staff. Less than 10 minute walk from pier. Vending machine and Ramen station in common area. We did not eat a restaurant. A nice beachfront hotel, smelled very good in hallway. Room with slippers, and a few snacks and sodas in the room, and toothbrushes. Would stay again when on Cheung Chau.

First time visiting Cheung Chau. It's a charming island with a great vibe, and the facilities are all top-notch. The hotel is right by the beach, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and activity. Plus, you can easily walk to all the great food spots on the island. The hotel's cleanliness and ambiance are also quite good.

Good location But the room little bit dirty All staff were nice

You didn't come to Cheung Chau expecting the Mandarin Oriental, right? Took my daughter for the weekend. We each had very nice curved balconies looking over the South China Sea to the rear end of HK Island. Lamma power station lit up at night, and the ICC in Kowloon poking over the HK skyline were cool. So too was the helicopter medivacs right outside our window. Beach is a stone's throw. Very nice swimming at the windsurf club. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and friendly. We didn't use any of the facilities: why would we? Too many great little eateries everywhere. Great for a staycation

The sea view from the terrace room is absolutely stunning!

Facing the sea, it's a pleasant and relaxing holiday spot. The room is small but clean and comfortable, though the bedding is a bit old. You'll need an international adapter. Thoughtfully, they provide small snacks and sodas. There's no bottled water, and breakfast is simple. Getting to the lobby involves steps and a steep incline, which is a bit tough when pulling a suitcase.

Friendly and accommodating staff

The environment is beautiful, and the hygiene and service were quite satisfactory. It's just that the air conditioning was too cold! 😅
