Recently I stayed at the Honiara hotel whilst attending a business conference and it was a comfortable & enjoyable experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful, arranging transport from the airport and to & from the conference daily. The hotel sits on the side of a hill with the rooms arranged on 4 levels, so depending on your room location, there can be lots of stairs. The staff also helped here with bag portage. The hotel is an older, island-style property and some aspects of it are tired and need refurbishment (such as the gym). The rooms are clean and air-conditioned and the beds are comfortable with new linen. The wi-fi worked once I figured out which side of the room was covered, but I had no problems connecting to Zoom meetings via my laptop on the desk. The TV reception was great and offered multiple English language channels. I also dined at the Honiara hotel with 4 colleagues. Again the staff were helpful as a number of us ordered fish and the waitress recommended against it as she said it wasn’t fresh, but they would have fresh fish in the morning. We opted for steaks which were well-cooked & delicious. The service was a little slow due to the hotel hosting multiple football teams for a regional championship, but they made a mends with some complementary garlic bread. The hotel has a large pool with adjoining deck and a games-room & bar. These all appear to be in good order and were very popular, creating a relaxed island vibe.

I loved my stay at the Honiara hotel. I stay here every time I visit Honiara and this time I had the pleasure of enjoying their newly renovated rooms. Luxurious sheets, modern aircon unit, wonderful views. The stairs are always a part of staying at the Honiara hotel and I just see it as my daily exercise. The staff treat me like family and everyone is so friendly. For me it’s the perfect balance of comfort whilst also feeling like I am in the Solomon Islands. Highly recommend staying here.

This place definitely has a lot of potential. The design is unique and the woodwork in the rooms is quite nice. The beds (mattresses really) and bathroom are quite dated. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The WiFi and air conditioning worked nicely. The pool was beautiful! The food was ok!

If you're planning to stay at this hotel, I would recommend being mindful of the additional transportation charges. The airport shuttle service has a separate fee, and when you arrive, the taxi driver will charge you separately in cash for the ride to the hotel. Unfortunately, this lack of clarity around the shuttle and taxi arrangements was the biggest disappointment of my stay. The miscommunication regarding these charges left me feeling frustrated, as I wasn't expecting to pay extra on top of what was already arranged. Make sure to clarify these details in advance to avoid any surprises during your trip.

for the positive .. clean, AC worked. shower had hot water after 5 minutes of running ... wifi does NOT work. supposedly it has been down for months. they have a back up Welkom Telecom, something like that. this does NOT work. then they gave me a portable hotspot. that did NOT work im sorry dont charge me $140 a night, if you cant deliver what you state. i told them not to clean my room. of course they did. and then on top of that, they threw out my melatonin gummies in the fridge for some reason. hotel of course does not have Do Not Disturb signs. so many other little things. in general the hotel is very dilapidated. in another ten years, this will be a coll dark tourism site.

This place is definitely not worth the money. The wifi is not easily accessible, some rooms are in the range of the hotspots, but others are not. The reception does not tell you the amount of internet is limited per guest, so if you do manage to get on the wifi, you might use up your quota and then have no internet (not pleasant when you arrive from a long trip somewhere where you don't know anyone). The safe in the room didn't work, the shower head was falling apart and it was difficult taking a shower. There was hot water only once (it's the tropics, how can the water not be warm?) otherwise cold showers, and then there were the cockroaches. If you don't kill them, they will come back, the same one! There is complimentary coffee in the room, tea and sugar, however the little box it is in is full of tiny ants, so you don't really want to use any of it. The pool is nice, maybe not clean enough, but decent. The hotel is located on a hillside, so there is a lot of going up and down, not convenient for luggage. I would not recommend this place at all

Would not recommend. Very run down, not well maintained. Pool closed for repairs. Beach very dirty in front of hotel. Did not enjoy the nights I stayed there. I was there January 2023, perhaps changes have been made since then. But at time of my stay was less than desirable. As well as very limited lousy wifi service

This hotel was chosen for us by a friend. The room was fine. It's old but it's Solomon Islands so it seemed to be in line with other non-resort places. We did not like having to climb up many steps to get to our room, but again, we did not choose the hotel. We only stayed one night so we did not use the pools but they looked nice. The French restaurant had delicious food. It cost us the equivalent of $78USD for 3 people for a full meal so that was very reasonable. We had breakfast at the smaller cafe and the food was also good. So the experience was good, except for the steps, which can't be helped.

The friendly and attentive attitude of the hotel employees is especially deserving of praise. They went above and beyond during my stay to accommodate my needs and make me feel at home. Their commitment to client happiness was obvious and greatly valued, whether it was in the form of transportation arrangements, area recommendations, or simply polite talks. My extended stay was made much more valuable by the hotel's amenities, like the pool and fitness facility. My nine-month stay at the Honiara Hotel was just fantastic, if I may add so. For making my stay at the Honiara Hotel so delightful, I would like to publicly thank the entire staff. With absolute conviction, I can say that the Honiara Hotel is a fantastic choice that far exceeds expectations.
