Prince Waikiki

The sea-view room offers a fantastic view directly overlooking the harbor. The room itself is very spacious. Aside from the slightly old hairdryer, all other hotel facilities are excellent. It's also within walking distance to the shopping mall. Highly recommended for travelers.

The hotel's location is great, and the room is spacious. The breakfast tasted good! However, there was an unreasonable charge: I was traveling with my child, and my credit card was overcharged by over $100 for the child's breakfast, even though breakfast for two was already included in the room rate. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't checked!

You can request an early check-in. The front desk will notify you of the check-in order based on the registration time. If there are vacant rooms, you can ask the front desk for an upgrade and check in directly. There's a large shopping mall nearby, about a 10-minute walk away.

As someone who's been to Hawaii three times, I highly recommend this hotel. First off, the room rates are significantly lower than those in Waikiki, yet the room size and views absolutely blow away similarly priced or even more expensive options in Waikiki. Secondly, parking is cheap; there's metered parking right downstairs at $1 an hour, costing a maximum of about ten dollars a day, which is a steal compared to hotels that charge $40-$50 a day. It's perfect for those who are driving. Lastly, the sushi on the first floor is delicious, and most importantly, affordable.

For our last two nights in Honolulu, we switched to Prince Waikiki because my daughter was scared of the pigeons constantly visiting our Hilton balcony. While this Japanese-style hotel doesn't have a resort vibe, it's quite comfortable, and the yacht club view from the window offers a different kind of scenery. On the first night, we found the hairdryer was broken, but thankfully, they were quick to respond. The hotel elevators are a bit slow, but parking is convenient at $1/hour on the street outside, which is much cheaper than the hotel's parking.

The room's cleanliness was just okay, and the toilet wasn't very clean. It's a bit far from Waikiki, and while Ala Moana is nearby, it's about a 10-minute walk. Dining and shopping aren't as convenient as in Waikiki.

Stayed for one night on the way back, and it was great. You can watch fireworks from the hotel's downstairs pool, and there are ABC, McDonald's, and small restaurants just a short walk away. A taxi to the airport costs a bit over 30 dollars, and there's also a bus stop. The service was excellent; I asked the front desk for a fruit knife and a microwave, and they actually sent a microwave to my room! The frangipani flowers really added a delightful touch to the end of my trip.
