Hotels in Hualien Station/Hualien City Urban Area, Hualien

The hotel's promotional material stated that ice cream was available 24/7. If there was an issue preventing this, they should have updated their advertising and politely informed guests, instead of having staff speak to guests like they were criminals, saying, '...it's not time for free ice cream yet...' This left a very bad impression.

It's close to Hualien Station, about a 5-minute walk away, but the entrance is not very wide, so be careful. Lockers with keys are available. The staff were friendly and all facilities were clean. There is a common space next to the reception, but it is not face-to-face, so it may be a little difficult to talk to other guests. My bed was a double and spacious, but there was only one power outlet, so I couldn't use the bed lamp and adapter at the same time.

This hostel is conveniently located right across from Hualien train station and the transfer station. The breakfast is incredibly generous with new dishes every day, and the entire space is very clean. Having a self-service washing machine is also a big plus. There's a 7-Eleven right next door, and you're greeted with beautiful views of layered mountains as soon as you step outside.

Right opposite Hualien Station, this is an incredibly convenient location! It’s perfect whether you’re traveling solo or with a few friends. The prices are reasonable, the facilities are complete, and a simple breakfast is even included. The common area is spacious, making it very convenient for a group of friends to chat and eat together in the lounge. We even met the owner when we were checking out, and they were so nice, even helping us take a group photo. I'm really grateful for the owner's dedication over so many years. With tourism in Hualien declining recently, it's truly commendable that they've managed to persevere and continue providing such a great place for travelers to rest. Thank you so much! 🙏

Parking is conveniently available right outside the station, which is a huge plus considering parking is hard to find at a train station! The room is fairly spacious, and there's a refrigerator and water dispenser on the first floor. There's a brunch place nearby that serves authentic Benedictine Eggs, which is quite delicious. Perfect for travelers by car or train!

So happy to see Hualian Charming Hotel as I walked out of Hualian Train Station, and the main bus stop is between the two buildings. Despite its proximity it is surprisingly quiet. Superb location for intercity travelling plus exploring the city by bus and to Taroko. Lots of eateries, souvenir shops and Family Mart and 7 Eleven. Can't ask for more. Hot and cold breakfast has meat and vegetarian selections, coffees and teas, and salads. No fuss check in and out, complimentary biscuits and hot drinks in the lobby until 8.00 PM. Rooms are spacious and clean, good range of shampoo and shower gel; can't ask for more.

I cannot recommend this place. I wanted to treat myself to something nice, but woke up in the middle of the night with a headache, as my room was running out of air. None of the windows open! I tried all settings of the AC, which required me to call my wife in China, as it was all in Chinese, but still there was never enough fresh air. I then cancelled my booking. Also, the floor-to-ceiling windows only work if you are on the 5th floor. I was on the second floor, basically street level and had eye contact with construction workers on the street. In that context, smaller windows would have been better, as you are basically seen by everyone passing by on the street (see photos). 

The location of the homestay is very good, just in front of the train station In the afternoon, I received a check-in information. It is very convenient to open the door by yourself with the key. Add Line to ask questions and reply very quickly

My stay at the Hualien Ching-Tien Grand Hotel was just average, falling short of my expectations. The most memorable and disappointing aspect was the food. The dinner buffet had a very limited selection, was slow to replenish, and often had empty tables. The overall quality was also unsatisfactory. I had hoped the breakfast the following day would be better, but it was still disappointing, with limited choices and many dishes taking a long time to replenish, resulting in a poor dining experience. On the positive side, the hotel's location is decent, near the train station, making transportation relatively convenient. The room size and overall cleanliness were acceptable, meeting basic accommodation needs. The staff were friendly, with no obvious issues. However, the soundproofing is a major concern. At night, I could clearly hear conversations from the next room, including some rather embarrassing noises. Families traveling with children might want to be particularly mindful of this. Overall, while the hotel's location and basic accommodations are acceptable, the food quality and soundproofing have significant room for improvement. I would reconsider staying there again.

Stayed for 2 nights.About 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. Many many eateries within walking distance like McD, KFC and other local food restaurants. Laundrymat is near. The room is clean with comfy bed. The bathroom is massive and very clean and has an industrial look. There is tea and egg sandwich left for us at the lobby in drawers with unlimited coffee from the machine. I would come back to stay here.
