Shanyu Life and Huangshan Design

My friend and I travelled here while sightseeing the Huangshan Mountain area on off-peak season in early February and stayed here 1 night. Shanyu Life and Design team were amazing at assisting us with organising transport from before we arrived. Really appreciated the quick response times and helpfulness! When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome tea and snack, the kitten was super playful and great fun. Overall, the service was excellent, the best wholesome meals with good portions and nutritient rich. We ordered the stinky fish and pork ribs at night, and had a lunch with noodles. The room was two beds as we had requested and was a really nice, modern fitout. Only thing was the shower/ bath not in a separate room - might be better for families, and some dust on the lamp shades but otherwise we were very happy. The lighting was also a struggle as some soft ones stayed on all night and the light switching was missing ones for the reading lamp on each side. Extra amenity like the loud speaker, slippers, picnic gear were all bonuses. Appreciated the large spaciousness and privacy we had, with a road view. The communal areas had lots of seating for groups in the dining and offered more outdoor areas to explore. A+ experience, would return!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic, largely thanks to the incredible team. From the moment we arrived, the staff was consistently friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The logistics were seamless and felt quite premium: 1. Arrival: We were picked up directly from the train station in a Tesla, which was a sleek and comfortable start to the trip. 2. Huangshan Access: The hotel provided a free shuttle service both to and from the Huangshan base entrance, making our day stress-free. 3. The Farewell: To our surprise, we received a lovely farewell gift at checkout. The most touching part was the entire team coming out to see us off as we hopped into our Didi. It’s rare to find this level of genuine hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Our family of 13 recently spent three nights at Shanyu Life and Huangshan Design hotel and the experience was delightful. The location is excellent—about a 10‑minute drive from the Huangshan park entrance—yet the hotel sits in a quiet area surrounded by mountains and tea plantations. The hotel’s free shuttle to Huangshan was extremely convenient for a group of our size. The resort offers spacious rooms with high‑quality finishes and fittings; All 7 of our rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with comfortable bedding and bathroom amenities that made for a very relaxing stay. The property is so tastefully designed that we were content to simply linger in the common areas after breakfast, sipping tea or practicing Chinese calligraphy in the serene setting. The highlight of our visit was the outstanding service from the staff, who were consistently caring, attentive, and proactive in anticipating our needs. They handled several ad‑hoc requests even before our arrival and continued to go above and beyond throughout our stay so that every member of our family felt well looked after. We particularly enjoyed the welcome hot tea while hotel owner Fang Fei introduced many interesting places to visit around Huangshan. The team also arranged a half‑day excursion to Mukeng Village Bamboo Forest, where the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was filmed, and it was amazing climbing the hills through such dense bamboo forest. After long days of sightseeing and mountain climbing, it was a joy to return to the resort, where a warm and hearty dinner awaited us, making it feel like coming home each evening. Fang Fei is also a tea master, and she not only taught us a lot about Huangshan’s famous teas but also hosted a tea‑appreciation and meditation session for us, which was exactly what our family needed after hectic travels through many Chinese cities before arriving in Huangshan. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made our stay truly memorable, and this hotel is highly recommended to anyone planning to visit Huangshan.
