My son and I stayed at Le Castillan late March early April. Everything was just perfect! The hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant is a must try!

This hotel is great, everything was smooth. There is a ski rental shop right under the hotel, and the. hotel has lockers to keep your skis and boots. There is ski access to a chairlift, so you can ski directly to a charlift from the hotel's door! The food at the restaurant of the hotel Chez Jules was delicious and their breakfast buffet was great. The sauna and the steam room was great to relax after a long day of ski. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great too, you can easily walk everywhere, it is close to great restaurants. The hotel has a lot of sunlight and a great view. We loved our balcony in the room too. Highly recommend staying here! It was the perfect ski trip.

Nice hotel, very friendly owners. A very short walk from access to the grand sur chair lift and the bus stop which takes you directly to the slopes, also just up the road from a shop and some bars/restaurants. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was fantastic and always very well stocked. The bar is a nice atmosphere and very cosy. The room was comfortable and the bed was nice. We had a balcony which overlooked the mountains which was beautiful. No complaints, we would definitely stay here again!

This is a moderately priced hotel that is conveniently located in L'Alpe d'Huez within about a 6-7 minute walk from two different lifts that can be taken to the base of the mountain. The rooms are basic with a comfortable bed, slightly lumpy pillows, a machine for boiling water with powdered coffee and tea, and basic bathroom amenities (but no refrigerator). There is an excellent hammam in the basement area along with a small gym, sauna, and massage parlor (for an extra price). There are locked ski lockers on the ground floor, a comfortable seating area with abundant natural light, a bar, and restaurant. While we were not thrilled with our two meals at the hotel restaurant (it is possible to have demi pension with breakfast and/or dinner), the couple that runs the hotel are very sweet and helpful. The super location and comfortable environment made this a great place to spend a few days skiing.

A very pleasant, clean and comfortable family run hotel in good location. A warm welcome with friendly and helpful staff. Was perfect for our inter generational short family skiing trip. Quiet at night if you want some rest after a hard day on the slopes, but close to other bars and restaurants etc if you want to go out. Easy access to regular free ski bus (stops virtually outside) to main slopes embarkation area. Having excellent Alain Sports ski hire in the same building is perfect. Thank you for a great stay!

Lovely, traditional French hotel. A family run business which was lovely to see. The rooms were warm and clean with comfy beds. The superior rooms had great views from the balcony and provided a perfect spot for some post-ski sunbathing. Sauna and steam room available which we also used which was a great addition. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold food and some very tasty coffee and croissants. Dinners were delicious and varied. We especially enjoyed the cheese trolley before dessert! The waiters were friendly and did a great job looking after our group of six. All hotel staff were helpful and smiley. Every Thursday they have a raclette night served by the chef himself which is fun! The location is excellent. A five minute walk to apres bars and restaurants and a ten minute walk into town. You can ski to within a five minute walk of the hotel. In the mornings you can also ski (or walk) from directly outside the Hotel to the Grand Sure chairlift. This takes five minutes maximum. We will definitely be back!

Le Castillan is a classic alpine resort hotel with excellent amenities and very welcoming hosts Julian and Stephanie. The staff are attentive and the food excellent (we were on half board). Clean rooms, so everything you need for a perfect holiday break. Really good location in the resort with plenty of car parking. If you're a cyclist this is the perfect location for you as they cater for road and mountain bikers in their secure garage. Would book again.
