Hunchun Wanjia Hotel

The room is particularly spacious and bright. There's a morning market right downstairs, which is very convenient for shopping.

Stepping into the hotel, I felt like I had arrived in Russia, as the lobby was filled with Russians. The hotel seems to have opened recently, as the facilities are still very new, and the hallways are spacious. However, the elevator controls are a bit chaotic, leading to long waits. It's located in a wholesale market area, so there's a morning market on the street below. If you walk through the market, you'll find a street dedicated to breakfast spots, making it convenient to grab a bite.

The rooms were spacious, and there were plenty of parking spaces downstairs. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and even brought water when I left. There's a laundry room on the second floor. However, there were quite a few issues: Service-wise, the housekeeping didn't make the beds the second night, although they replaced the bedding. The disposable slippers were almost leaking after one night and weren't replaced the next day. Facilities-wise, the curtains were broken, the towel rack in the bathroom was missing, and the elevator was slow and inconvenient to wait for. The bathroom had a strong odor. The soundproofing was poor; I could hear the neighbors watching TV and talking, but the windows were well-insulated, so I slept well despite the noise from the morning market downstairs. Cleanliness-wise, the sheets had stains, and the toilets in both rooms I booked were quite dirty; I spent a lot of time cleaning them myself. Breakfast was okay, but they didn't replenish much each time. They didn't proactively give me a breakfast voucher for the next day; I had to get it from the front desk myself. The location is decent, about a 15-minute walk from the seafood street. It's about an hour's drive to Fangchuan Scenic Area. The morning market downstairs has a good variety of fruits, which is a good place to stock up.

We stayed one night before heading to the Yangtze River. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable and clean, with plenty of pillows and blankets. We slept wonderfully. The curtains were blackout, and the room was huge, but somehow unorganized. A room this large could have used a ton of useful travel essentials—for example, there's nowhere to put our suitcases comfortably. There's a kettle and cups, but no saucers or plates for fruit, which are sold in abundance nearby. There's no robe in the room, but maybe they provide them upon request—I don't know. There were two large towels instead of three, so I had to ask for one. There are no foot towels at all. But there is free ice cream, water in a cooler downstairs, and all sorts of cute snacks. There's a morning market outside the window, but its hum is barely audible. Overall, a 4 out of 5, but there's still room for improvement. By the way, the hotel is located about 7 minutes from SHENBO, those who know will understand))

Finding a good value hotel in Hunchun during peak tourist season can be challenging. Getting to the hotel requires walking through a market, which is closed at night but bustling with activity in the morning. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all questions about food and dining options. The welcoming front desk staff, especially the beautiful lady with wide eyes, were very helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, much larger than typical chain hotel rooms, and the beds were spacious. The breakfast was fresh and had a wide selection, though freshly cooked noodles would have been a plus. There was ample parking at the entrance, and it was convenient to the seafood street and shopping routes. My stay was short this time, so I didn't have time to explore and eat more. I'll stay two more days next time!

The room was spacious and clean (though the towels were a bit cheap). The front desk service was excellent 👍 – warm, hospitable, and quick to resolve issues. It's also not far from the high-speed rail station and very close to the seafood market. Great value!
