I usually book company trips and family vacations through Ctrip, and I rarely leave negative reviews. However, this time I'm going to give a proper and objective evaluation.
I specifically paid extra for a deluxe twin room, hoping for a larger space with a large sofa. But what I received was utterly disappointing. The room was dark, damp, and covered in mold. I felt it would make my child sick. The sofa was even stuck in the wall! It was a complete misrepresentation. The room described was completely different from what was shown. When I called the front desk, they gave me a bunch of excuses, saying that's how our hotel is. Without further ado, I contacted Ctrip. Ctrip is great for hotel bookings; you don't have to worry about bad service. In fact, the worse the service, the better Ctrip's after-sales service.
Finally, thanks to Ctrip's efforts, I got a room that matched the hotel's promotional photos.
Hotel advantages: High cost-performance ratio, delicious and varied breakfast, ample parking, restaurants downstairs, and conveniently located near Nanxun Ancient Town and Xishan Wetland Park.
Cons: The hotel's front desk service was terrible; it felt like we owed them money. Some rooms were old and had mold spots on the walls. See photos for details.
The first four photos are of the moldy room we were initially shown.
The next three photos are of the room after some negotiation.
The last two photos are of the food in the breakfast restaurant.
Summary: The price-performance ratio is okay. If the room doesn't match the pictures, contact Ctrip directly for assistance.
