Hideaways Nantwich Lodge, Hwange

Wonderful private lodge in an unfenced area within Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Beautiful setting with nearby waterhole, tastefully designed and furnished main house as well as rooms with interior and exterior showers and bath. The main area also features a fireplace, swing and lounge area as well as a separate bar by a small Pool with great views across the plains of the national park. But most importantly were the people. A wonderful, welcoming team, always friendly and ready to read your wishes and make your stay even more comfortable! Starting with the manager to the service team and kitchen crew over to the housekeeping staff which arranged our rooms with mosquito nets and hot water bottles every evening. Great thanks for very tasty and special breakfast, second breakfast with freshly home- made muffins, lunch, sundowner snacks and incredible dinner menus to Chef K ⭐️⭐️⭐️! And special thanks also to Daphne for the wonderful massage and Tabu for great drinks at the bar! Last but not least Ndaba, our very knowledgable and engaged safari guide, made the experience complete by showing us many different sites of the Hwange National Park in search of wild cats, elefants, hippos and many more. Learnt to read animal tracks and finally were rewarded with wonderful animal sights! 🤩

We stayed 3 nights here and loved the lodge & Hwange. We received a lovely warm welcome from all the staff on our arrival and all of them ensured our stay was special. Julius (JC) was our guide and he was excellent - we had been to Chobe and we got to see quite a few things here that we didn't see in Chobe, Honey Badgers, Secretary birds, Nightjars, Owls and a wild cat family really close to the lodge. Hwange was quieter than the other parks and the trees were turning a lovely autumnal colour which I hadn't seen anywhere else. We had a massage with Daphne which was so relaxing. Tarbo was so helpful as well, always checking we were ok. The food was excellent and there were little touches like hot water bottles in the bed and on the morning game drive which were very thoughtful. We loved our stay here.

Our experience staying two nights at Nantwich Lodge and going on safari with Anno was a definite highlight of our three weeks in Southern Africa. The staff were what made it so special. The food was delicious and abundant. The stylish accommodation with outdoor showers and baths looking over the waterhole was wonderful addition. Thoroughly recommend Nantwich Lodge

I spent nearly a week at Nantwich Lodge and by the end felt as though I'd become a part of the family. The staff were fantastic, making sure I was happy at all times - their smiles, laughter and great attitude was obvious from the get go. The food was sublime, probably the most tender chicken I've eaten anywhere in the world. The rooms have a phenomenal view over Hwange NP, with resident hippos in the waterhole next to camp and impala, kudu, warthog and more often coming from a drink during the day. I can't wait to get back!

Nantwich and Hwange are magical . The staff at Nantwich were all superlative . The lodge is small and secluded and the accommodation and facilities are lovely. Our guide Ndaba was incredible - he spotted lions elephants buffalo painted dogs giraffes hippos and so much more. Our stay at Nantwich was incredibly special and exceeded our expectations

I cannot speak highly enough if this lodge. The location is fantastic, you get a fantastic welcome when you arrive and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing. The food is excellent, the accommodation spacious and comfortable and the staff are just wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for Jill and Thabo who are so caring and thoughtful and lovely to be around. The game drives are great and if you wish, you can opt for an all-day drive rather than returning to the lodge for lunch. There's nothing you could want that this lodge doesn't offer!

It was so beautiful, peaceful with wonderful staff and service. The rooms to die for - couldn't believe my luck when I walked in. Had an open air bath and shower ( i do love an open air both in the African night). The restaurant meeting area gorgeaus, staff who are anticipating and responding to our needs without being pushy. Animals in the water hole to listen to at night. Great game drives from the lodge with the nicest of guides - absolutely perfect.

The lodge is just amazing. Very quiet and relaxed with big and beautiful rooms/tents. You are welcomed by the great staff every time you come (back) to the lodge. The pool is nice with a view on the lake, where there may be elephants or giraffes walking around. The game drives around the lodge were really good. Just a few minutes from the lodge, there is a very quiet, but beautiful park with a lot of wildlife (and no other tourists, unlike Chobe NP)! Absolutely recommended!
