Hwange Safari Lodge

Amazing place

This was a wonderful hotel with welcoming staff. We visited as part of our G Adventures tour of Kruger, Zimbabwe and Botswana. The room was comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Located near Hwange National Park, it was not fenced and allowed for roaming animals at the waterhole just within sight of the room. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and served buffet-style in a room surrounded by glass walls and doors. Morning and afternoon safari rides at Hwange were filled with sightings of animals. Our favorites were the many elephants we crossed paths with in the Park.

Like others have commented, the road to Hwange is extremely bad. We were driven from Victoria Falls and took 4hrs to arrive. On the return journey the luggage trailer broke down and then the vehicle broke down. However, accommodation is just gorgeous, the setting is enhanced by the nearby waterhole which attracts many animals. The staff are delightful and accommodating. Would recommend a stay here.

This was the best experience we have ever had at an accommodation. We stayed for two nights as part of a three week tour and Hwange Lodge was by far the best of our nine lodges. Our room was wonderful, the grounds were clean and expansive, the meals were fantastic, the safari vehicles and guides were excellent and the bonus viewing of the waterhole was outstanding. This was all made better by the most friendly and amazing lodge staff that we have ever encountered. We even did massages which were very enjoyable. I wish we could have spent longer here, it was one of the highlights of my life.

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful lodge, and wished we had longer! Beautiful, spotless rooms that look out into the bush, watching zebras as the sun came up! As soon as you walk in the lobby it’s just stunning. Set in beautiful surroundings with wildlife everywhere. We saw zebras, elephants & lots of birds. The game drives from the lodge were great & our guide Blessi was fantastic! So full of knowledge. We were lucky enough to witness Lions mating amongst many any other incredible sightings. We had great food here too and the staff were fab! So friendly & kind. Definitely recommend Hwange Safari lodge & would love to return!

The service, staff, rooms and facilities at this Lodge were the best we experienced during our travels in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The food served at dinner and breakfast was outstanding. Fresh, hot, cooked with pride, and served with a genuine smile. The soups made daily were fabulous. We were made to feel very welcome during our short stay. It was worth the very bumpy, long drive from Victoria Falls over appalling roads.

The service was excellent and the facilities are up to standard. Restuarant and bar facilities are good and there is variety on the dinner and breakfast menu.

Location was good for Painted dog conservation and the Hwange National Park. Roads was very bad 2-3hrs extra
