The Wallow Lodge

Stayed 4 nights in April - wish it had been more. Booked directly with Wilma at Wild Horizons who was super helpful. We stayed in room 13 which had a fantastic view & we were able to sit on the deck & watch the birds & wildlife when we had time which was very relaxing. Room was spacious & spotlessly clean. Fabulous shower & comfy bed. Food was excellent. All the staff were amazing & very knowledgable. We went on many excursions, sundowner over the gorge, river cruise on the Zambezi, guided tour of Victoria Falls as well as a helicopter flight. The hightlight was the Elephant Experience which was truly amazing. All organised by the team especially Sharon & Taz. Huge thank you to Bheki who was our guide throughout our stay & was full of information & great fun to be with. We miss you all & can't thank you enough for making our stay so wonderful.

What an amazing time we had at the Wallow Lodge. We stayed for 4 nights. Our room was lovely overlooking the river and ideal for seeing lots of different animals. The staff were out of this world and looked after us so well they could not do enough for us. Our guide Caleb was fantastic. Our first night we arrived we went for a game drive that ended with snacks and drinks at the gorge. We also did the walk with the elephants which was an amazing experience. Victoria Falls was something I will never forget. All meals and drinks we had were beautifully presented and very good quality. We all did not want to leave. Would definitely recommend Wallow Lodge to anyone what an experience we had which we will talk about for years to come.

We spent 3 nights at the Wallow Lodge in February 2026. From the moment we arrived we fell in love. Caleb picked us up at the airport and we were so happy to find that he would be our guide for our entire stay. The man knows EVERYTHING about the area, the animals, the birds, the people and the flora. Taz was the manager we dealt with most….and he was a pleasure. The tent was beautiful and very well equipped. The food plentiful and very yummy.

A group of four thought that we were in an overflow location from our main party but I can say that we had the best of the best. The lodge highlighted our nature experiences and we able to see and hear a variety of animals daily. The staff was warm, accommodating and made us feel like family. Our meals shared there were delicious and I hugged the chef over his bream preparation. We cried during our farewell and it was not made up. We were sad to say farewell.

Wallow Lodge is truly amazing, in a beautiful setting. Rooms are spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We loved the 2 showers, one outside and one inside. The soaps, shampoos had a lovely scent. Food was excellent, lunch, supper and breakfast so varied and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. We loved the sun downer at the top of the gorge, incredible view. No complaints at all. Well worth a visit.

Wallow Lodge, a luxury safari camp located in a private game reserve in Victoria Falls. The tented camp is set along the banks of the Masuwe River, surrounded by 4,500 acres of wilderness. The tent is hardly roughing it, full air conditioner, spacious with a separate large bathroom. Mosquito netting covers king size bed. Two game drives each day. Good base to see Victoria Falls. The lodge took me an a walking tour of the falls and then arranged a helicopter flight over the falls.. Very good food and service.

Great stay! The rooms are basically a tiny home with tarp walls. Very well appointed and comfortable. Meals were great and staff super friendly and helpful.

This was by far the best property on our 14 nights, 5 stay safari in southern Africa. We were told that the property is new, only about 5 years old, made during the Covid years. Part of the Wild Horizon chain of lodges in the Victoria Falls area, it is clearly luxury level with very high standards. The tent cabins had large zipper windows that allowed for fresh breezes and light in the rooms during the day. I liked the double basin bathroom sinks and the wooden hanging barn doors giving the rooms a rustic feel. Especially nice were the supplemental outdoor showers and the interior walk-in shower with plenty of hot water. The huge front dual sliding glass doors really opened up the tent to light and air. It was fun sitting on our front deck watching and hearing the baboon troop just across the river some 20-30 meters away. We also got to watch an entire herd of cape buffalo in that same area at night. Pretty exciting when some of them got into the water and we started thinking what would happen if they might come across to our side. Warthogs were on our side of the river and made regular appearances along the walkway to our rooms. Not to worry, said our staff. And they weren't a problem. The staff were excellent. Sharon at reception is an asset to the company. She was so welcoming, accessible, and enthusiastically helpful. Caleb and Newton, our drivers were also very professional. Always prompt and safety conscious and so flexible in allowing us ample time to do shopping in town. If staying here, you are sure to do the obvious - the falls, the sunset cruises, the shops and restaurants and such. But don't forget what this lodge has at its doorstep - two complimentary tours: (1) a game drive on its own property and (2) an elephant encounter that is just so memorable and unique. After doing game drives over several days in Hwange, we thought that we would just pass on these two offerings at this lodge. I am so glad that we did not pass on these. And don't you do it. They are both so much better than you might think. Bring your cameras because people just wouldn't believe what you will see and experience on these two tours. (Spoiler alert. You will finish the game drive above the Zambezi River gorge in one of the most dramatic cliff edge sundowners ever. On the second, you will probably never have a more intimate experience with a wild elephant in your life.)
