Sannouzan Onsen Zuisenkyo

The quality of the open-air bath here is quite good, we like it very much 💕 Although the hotel building feels old-fashioned, it is well maintained. The room we stayed in should have been built later and is a bit far away from the large bathing area. We can just enjoy the exhibitions of the hotel and artists. Paintings and beautiful scenery along the way 👍

A cost-effective hot spring hotel. The room you stay in has no view of the road. The area is relatively small for four people, but it is close to the bathing beach. The bathing beach has open-air and indoor baths. It is good. The dinner is rich, the breakfast is average, and the overall price is reasonable.

I stayed the night before going to climb Mount Kurikoma in autumn leaves the next day. I parked my car in front of the entrance, dropped off my luggage, and went to park my car, but since I arrived after dark, the parking lot was pitch black and difficult to find. I called in advance on the way to let them know my arrival time and made a reservation for dinner, so the front desk was smooth. The room was a Japanese-style room with a bed in Hakusan-tei (main building). I didn't know at night, but in the morning there was a garden with a pond in front of the room. There were two sinks. There was a bath in the room, but I didn't use it because there was a hot spring. There was a safety deposit box. The ice water from Zuizan-no-Sato in the pot was delicious. Perhaps it was renovated, but the room was a Japanese-style room with a bed on tatami mats, and all rooms were non-smoking, so there was no smell. There were two smoking areas, one in the room next to the entrance and one in the room on the path to the hot spring. Dinner was a course, and the number of dishes seemed to vary slightly depending on the plan price. Although I chose a cheap plan, they also served Maesawa beef, and the self-service corner had rice (Ichinoseki Hitomebore), dashi ochazuke, clam miso soup, recommended fried foods, various pickles, chicken soba, bite-sized cakes, mango, and sesame dumplings, so I was quite satisfied. Breakfast was a buffet style with a fair amount of food. The ginger mochi, a specialty of the hotel, was delicious. Mt. Sanno is the place where Yamato Takeru no Mikoto visited to conquer the Emishi in the eastern provinces, and it seems that the hot springs gushed forth in a place related to this, so it was named Miracle Hot Springs. A tapestry donated by Toake Yukiyo was on display next to the entrance to the hot springs, perhaps because she had visited the facility. The dressing room was spacious and easy to use. There were about eight washing areas, and the open-air bath was also very comfortable. There was a wooden deck outside the bath area, which looked like it would be nice in the summer. However, it was a Saturday during the autumn leaves season, so it can't be helped, but considering the accommodation fee and the food, I wondered if it was worth the money.

I stayed here when I visited Chusonji Temple. I think this is a good value hotel. There is a shuttle bus between the hotel and Hiraizumi Station or Ichinoseki Station. Reservations are required. However, there are few buses, so be careful when making plans. The steak for dinner was delicious. Also, the Japanese breakfast had a wide variety of dishes and seemed to be properly cooked, so it was delicious. The building was old, but it was well-cleaned and I was able to use it comfortably. The spring quality was excellent, and it left my skin silky smooth.

There aren't many hot springs in southern Iwate Prefecture, so this was my first time here. The gardens are beautiful. The Maesawa beef sukiyaki and teppanyaki were delicious, but the other dishes were lacking. We enjoyed the small half-buffet. The meals for elementary school students and toddlers were good. The open-air bath was interesting. The water was a little lukewarm. I enjoyed the ginger mochi for breakfast. Ichinoseki is synonymous with mochi! I wish there were a few more varieties. The kids were excited about the Anpanman slide in the corner. Thank you very much.

The bath with a beautiful view of the Iwai River was nice. There are two types of open-air baths, which are switched between night and morning, but I think the men's bath (the one in front) was better at night. I would like to go there for a day trip as well. I chose a lower-ranked meal plan, but the portions were small and just right. I was satisfied for the price. Unfortunately, the noise from the guests next door was a bit loud.
