Hotel Kasteelhof 't Hooghe

Excellent stay for 3 nights in July. We stayed in the Annex building, which was modern with clean, spacious rooms. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The bar in the evenings was good with a lovely seating area outside. Great value, staff were great, rooms excellent, overall a really nice stay.

Nice hotel situated just outside Ieper. Good location for visiting the area. Nice very cleen hotelrooms. We were staying in the new part of the hotel in a seperate building near the main building. Breakfast was good, very fresh and plenty to choose from.

Great place to stay in the middle of the WW1 Battlefield - fantastic location - room and breakfast superb.

Quiet, clean, helpful & friendly staff. Great breakfast! Old building, but beautifully preserved. Felt like stepping back in time to a classy, traditional hotel. We would highly recommend!

I arrived early and my room was ready and able to check in which was awesome. The room had a huge bed, air con and a bath. The shower was a hand held device and no shower curtain. This did not pose any real problem for me though. The food was excellent but the restaurant is closed at the weekends but again not a problem because you are quite close to Ypres and the facilities there. Breakfast was a continental type and very good. The hotel is on the front line of WW1 and next to a crater caused in the Great War and a cemetery a short walk away. I walked into Ypres from the hotel and is a pleasant 45 minute walk. I didn't see any buses. I think most people have a car or bicycle so again not a problem. The staff are great and it is lovely sitting on the patio with a drink in the evening after some difficult touring during the day. For motorcyclist - the drive is gravel and a little awkward to move heavy bikes about.

We’ve stayed here before and only chose this property again because of the lovely old room we stayed in. However, this time we were in the new build which was not even close to the last time we stayed. It was huge but had no soul no pictures no history. I think when booking this room it should be made clear that there is a possibility that you will be placed in the new build and not the castle. So disappointed. The breakfast was lovely but the toilets in the new build had brown water and smelled. I love the area and I will definitely be back but next time I’ll stay somewhere else. If I’d not stayed here before I wouldn’t have known what I was missing.

The Parking was on site. There is a Bar & Restaurant. We had an excellent evening meal. The Hotel is within easy drive to Wypres, the Menin gate also Passiondale and Tye Cott, also a Theme park very close. All in all this Hotel is really good. We would come again.

Fantastic place to stay if you're there for the history, we stayed in the new wing with air con , which was very welcome,.

Lower sore for more recent annex accommodation Previously wee have had a bedroom in the old building which is very atmospheric and enchanting. However, this time we were given a room in the newer annex which had inadequate lighting. Even with all of the ceiling and wall and table lamps lit, t was difficult to read from screens at any rime of day because the lights were not diffuse enough, more like localised spotlights.
