Cleanliness is very bad. Lot of noise and no staff for any assistance

Visited for food and curry was ordered. Really delicious jungle curry with sides of rice and chips. The flavours and spice blend perfectly done

Another fabulous stay at the brittania, we visit 4 times a year, over many years, staff remember you,owners recognise you,a great friendly welcoming and super dog friendly hotel, Amazing views super clean rooms,excellent food a must if you in ilfracombe.

We ate here early evening after a day walking. We weren’t guests at the hotel. The bar menu was quite interesting. We both opted for curry. The slow cooked ******* lamb curry with spinach was tasteless, tough meat and terrible watery consistency. The beef Chinese curry was tough tasteless and probably not freshly cooked. It was all pretty inedible.

We stayed overnight with a dog. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and spacious with a great view and the breakfast was good.

The room was basic but clean, very warm, they do provide a fan which helped but couldn’t open the window due to the extra glassing that had been installed. Breakfast was nice and the staff were also polite, friendly and helpful.

We had a very comfortable weekend stay here. Location is truly great, right on the harbour. Slept well, good room, good food. A delightful town.

I never write reviews but the only thing going for the place is its location. I was told I was given a “better room” which was the room I booked and paid for. It was dirty, pillows as thin as plates, sheets as old as the building and to top it off coming down in the morning to the reception area stinking of stale cigarettes. Considering all of this and the breakfast not being included in the price, we found an alternative place to eat.

It is a fab location and our room had a great view of the harbour. It is an old building full of character which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it could do with a refresh as some decor and carpets are a bit grubby.
