The Devonian

Everything about The Devonian Guesthouse is special, from Terence and Piper, the lovely and friendly couple who run the place so beautifully, to the pleasing and quirky decor and fantastic breakfast service. The house has a happy welcoming atmosphere and is so much more than a run-of-the-mill B&B, with a brilliantly designed bar room, reading room, gym, sauna and cinema room all for guests’ use, as well as a magical garden. Our room (Pullman Green room) was delightful - wonderfully light, very spacious and extremely comfortable with thoughtful and luxurious touches. The Devonian offers exceptional value for money and staying here was a delight. Would we stay again? In a heartbeat ❤️

We had a lovely stay at The Devonian. Piper and Terence have curated a beautiful house, it's immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and full of interesting features from the reception area with vintage cases and postbox to the bar full of music memorabilia and the garden which tumbles down to a stream via a series of terraces and sitting areas. Everything is comfortable and well designed. Piper and Terence were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. They provided us with local information for our walks and accommodated our changes in travel plans which was much appreciated. Breakfast was fabulous, all freshly cooked by Piper and served in a homely but spacious dining room with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of choices and a good start to our days out. I loved the pancakes with bananas and pecans! The location was close to the coastal path which meant we could walk from the door and not take the car out which was great. It is also only a ten minute walk down the hill to the harbour and town. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

This place is absolutely incredible. Sadly only stayed here for an overnight stay but could have happily stayed much longer. Spotless and spacious rooms, lots of lovely little design touches and best of all wonderful friendly service at every stage of the journey , from booking onwards, to first welcome and beyond. Cannot recommend highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have just had our third stay at Terence & Piper's amazing B & B. The Devonian is, without question, the best B & B we have stayed in. The accommodation, the attention to detail, the breakfast and especially the warm welcome from the hosts make this the perfect place to stay. Thankyou!

Unbelievable accommodation, we only booked for a night as we had a wedding the next day and stayed at the venue but if we had the chance to go back we’d go in a heartbeat. It’s a 10 ish minute walk to the beach front. The couple that run it go above and beyond and take the time to get to know their guests. If I had to critique it’s just the water pressure could be a little better but it’s nowhere near enough to stop us booking in the future. Loved it

Exceptional stay! From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the boutique and retro style of this beautiful place. The attention to detail was next to none, having travelled around a lot of the UK in beautiful hotels, were at a loss of words for how amazing this place is. The hosts were fantastic and extremely attentive. The breakfast has to be mentioned as well the best sausages we've ever had! Thank you Piper and Terence x
