Such a lovely, comfortable and friendly place to stay.I was made to feel welcomed as soon as I arrived.I would stay there again.

We stayed at the Devonian in May and it was awesome. Terrance and Piper really looked after us and were engaging and friendly throughout the week. The breakfasts were incredible!!

What stood out from start to finish, was the attention to detail. We were warmly welcomed by Piper, who understood our requirements ( we were coming to our son’s wedding) . Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect for the wedding venue ( The Tunnels) a short downhill walk. The rooms were spotless, decor very calming, beds and pillows comfortable. Really high standard of decoration. This BnB also has a large well equipped gym, a gorgeous looking sauna ( sadly didn’t have our bathing suits) and an intimate cinema! What other bnb could boast that? Excellent value for money. Our family used 4 rooms including the apartment. All extremely well appointed. A really appreciated touch was a fridge in the hallway which offered fresh milk to have with a cuppa in your room. Comprehensive choices for breakfast and all beautifully presented and delivered by Terrence. Piper and Terrence are full of local knowledge and great at suggestions for making the most of your visit to this lovely coastline. If you are going to Ilfracombe, look no further.

No wonder this place has such great reviews… okay the house is amazing… with all your amenities (jacuzzi, bar, gym, sauna etc) but what really makes it special is Terence and Piper! You are truly made to feel at home, with a lovely breakfast, a smile and even a hug! Terence and Piper can’t do enough for you, always asking whether they can get you anything! The whole house is pristine with so many hidden gems.. the cinema room, the ‘bath’ room! The decor has been thoughtfully chosen with lots of lovely touches and with a high quality in mind.. think lovely fluffy towels! Would definitely love to come back and stay again with you guys (even if it means I have to go to those bars again Terence haha) thanks again guys❤️ love Teena and Nathan x

The Devonian is a beautiful building lovingly restored, full of character with exceptional attention to detail. Terence and Piper (the hosts) are the lovliest of people who can’t do enough for you. Piper’s breakfast are absolutely outstanding and you are spoilt for choice - I don’t know how she does it! Their recommendations from hikes to restaurants were perfect. They just seemed to ‘get us’. We felt like we had known them years! We had travelled a long way for a family wedding and are beyond glad we had boooked in for a longer stay - a stay that was honestly made so special thanks to Terence and Piper.

We were delighted to eventually be able to return to the Devonian. It was and certainly still is the nicest place we have ever stayed, outstanding in every respect. The property itself is elegant and stands within a magical garden. It is stylishly decorated and furnished, with many interesting features and has every conceivable amenity. The presentation and the quality of the breakfast and the choices available also go towards setting the Devonian apart from any other. All of this is due to the hard work of the lovely hosts, Piper and Terence, welcoming, caring and considerate and who set out to make their guests feel right at home. A wonderful couple who have achieved something very special here.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and cannot recommend The Devonian highly enough to anyone. Our hosts, Terence and Piper, were exceptionally welcoming, incredibly friendly, and truly could not do enough for us throughout our visit. The accommodation itself is spotlessly clean, superbly decorated, and very well thought-out down to the finest detail. To top it all off, the breakfast was absolutely superb and top-class, prepared with clearly high-quality ingredients. Thank you so much for making our weekend so enjoyable. We've just returned from a cycling trip to Ilfracombe, where we stayed at the Devonian, a beautiful Victorian villa run by Terence and Piper, which we were all very impressed with. In a peaceful location and beautiful grounds, the hotel has been decorated with a real flair for interior design. We booked three rooms, all of which were lovely, Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was a lovely peaceful atmosphere, and Terence and Piper couldn't have been more helpful: helping with our luggage, securely storing our bikes, and even giving us tips on where to eat, and the best route take out of the town in the morning. I don't think I've ever had a better hotel breakfast. We all chose different cooked breakfasts, and they were beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. The table settings were really tasteful with lovely bone china crockery. We all agreed that it was a lovely stay, and we wouldn't hesitate about staying there if we were to visit Ilfracombe again, and would definitely be happy to recommend to others
