Holiday Inn CLEVELAND-S INDEPENDENCE by IHG

Great stay- recommended

No free breakfast despite the advertisement. Did not receive the room I ordered, and was downgraded. The lady at the front desk was rude and lacked knowledge.

Overall our needs were not met staying at the holiday in. The shower made a painful screeching noise every-time the water was turned on. In order to turn on the heat, it smelt like burnt cigarettes. A burning smell that was consistent making the whole room stink. Other problems were not able to be communicated due to the fact the phone wouldn’t allow us to make any calls. The pool was not clean, very dirty smelling, visibly not cleaned. When asking for towels were given small hand towels because they were out of pool and bath towels. The overall appearance of the room was okay, but a lot of cleaning details were missed. Someone else’s hair in the bed, stains on the sheets etc. They were unable to tend to our needs, not even having water available.

My room on the third floor was very clean and bed comfortable. However there was water damage on the wall above the desk. It appeared someone tried to tape the wall paper where it was coming off a bit. (?)

Room cleanliness I'll give an 8. Staff a definite 10. Not having a coffee bar or free coffee available anywhere on site was a turn off. Food was overall pretty tasty.

Stayed there for 3 nights. Had clean towels only 1 day. They did not make the beds and did not clean up. Not even fresh towels on day 2. Very disappointed

Staff when calling to book a room was very rude, hung up on me then called me back 5 hours later at 9pm..
