Comfort Suites Independence - Kansas City

We greatly enjoyed this property, made all the better by the amazing staff! From the warm welcome by the evening front desk attendant to the creatively decorated toilet paper rolls and fanned towels in our room’s bathroom, we felt clean, comfortable, and safe from the moment of arrival. The breakfast bar was fabulous, with hot cheese omelets, yummy sausage, and scrumptious STRAWBERRY waffles (I’ve never had anything like them before!), the food was hot, tasty, and abundant. Our bed was super comfy and we woke refreshed and happy. While the hot water could have been hotter, everything else was fabulous. I highly recommend this property to anyone needing a comfy stay near independence. MO. Oh - and the Golden Corral is within walking distance for dinner. Overall, fabulous stay! Great job, everyone!

I can’t believe I paid that much for a room for a hotel that was nowhere near the quality of a nice hotel and the rating it had received. I was unable to drive home because of the severe storms and had to stop somewhere . I had stayed in the area before, and hoped this would be a decent place to stay. The front desk staff was very efficient and very kind. My room smelled, the toilet was very very dirty, and the floor was dirty. I was placed right next to the elevator with a lot of loud people coming off (which really is no one‘s fault it just happened to be I was placed in that room probably because of high occupancy)

Hot tub had a few inches of gross water in it. Condition of hotel was a bit worn but okay. Found toys and old trash in our room so not sure how thorough they clean the rooms.

Stuff we’re super friendly and very helpful. Honest review, the facility needed updated badly. My issue is that the hotel one is not cheap and two paying money and having a terrible experience is not good for business. The first room we in had absolutely no hot water. Took almost an hour for us to give the “hot water heater” time to upgrade those. The toilet also leaked when flushed. The we got moved another room where the window seal was damaged and still no hot water. It was too late to go do it all over again. So no offense to staff because everyone was excellent. But I hope this gets to corporate and they do something about it. Would no recommend this hotel souly the needs major improvements. Don’t be upset like us.

Nice staff upon arrival and good coffee. Traveling with two kids and two adults. Adequate room but definitely could use some TLC - shabby/dingy tub tile/caulk, loose faucet in the sink, loose light fixture next to the bed, dinged up walls, stain on carpet. Wasn’t expecting a five-star stay, but there are little things that would class this place up. Also the pool water looked murky and the hot tub was empty (no sign or explanation). The place worked fine for us for the one night we stayed but I was glad we weren’t going to be there longer.

We chose to stay there for indoor pool and hot tub. Hot tub was not open and indoor pool was freezing. No towels in pool room. Then our room the water spout in shower was falling off and door handle was broke

The toilet wouldn’t flush and there was no bedding for the pullout bed. Very sketchy location and amenities.

Black hair was on tub walls and on the floor in the bathroom very nasty
