"I really loved the room! It had panoramic windows on two sides, offering a beautiful view of the city and the sea right from the bed. The room also featured a separate lounge area with a sofa and TV, and a kitchen equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. There was so much space! The breakfast buffet was excellent and varied, including dairy and vegetarian options, a wide selection of national pastries, and juices."

"The hotel is in a good location, about a 30-minute walk from Nariman Narimanov metro station, or 5-7 minutes by taxi. Check-in was handled through the Family Hotel. Initially, they said there were no single rooms left and offered one with a double bed. After I checked in, there was a puddle on the carpet in the room after cleaning, which didn't dry even after a full day. The room also had a smell of baby feces, which turned out to be smeared on the wallpaper and hadn't been cleaned. After half an hour of persuading them that this was unacceptable, they miraculously found another double room and moved me there. Everything was fine in that room, except for the fact that it was never cleaned during my 4-day stay, and towels were changed only once, but not the bed linen. Breakfast was from 8 AM to 11 AM; it's acceptable for an unpicky traveler. The selection is sparse, but you won't go hungry. The staff doesn't speak Russian, and their English is very basic. Overall, it's decent for the price."

"I chose this hotel because of the location, as it was close to the embassy where I needed to go, and it served my purpose. The streets around are very quiet, so no traffic noise. The room was fine for the price, spacious, good bed, clean, windows can be opened to let in air. The only problem, as others mentioned in the reviews, is that shower cabin leaks onto the floor, so the floor in the bathroom gets very wet and slippery. I did not try wi-fi or breakfast at this hotel, so cannot comment on that. 100 manat deposit was required when checking in even though room had been paid online. Maybe it's common pratice in AZ, I don't know."

"The hotel is new and perfectly located, and the breakfast is good. Service, however, varies depending on the staff member. Unfortunately, one morning, an employee was sleeping near the reception desk and missed my four calls from the room requesting breakfast (as it's only served in-room). As a result, I lost about an hour that I could have spent exploring the city. My suggestion is to pay more attention to staff performance. Also, the currency exchange rate at the hotel is unfavorable; you'll get a better rate even in the Old City."

"The hotel is quite new, and Azerbaijanis are generally friendly towards foreigners. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. In this Hilton Garden Inn in Baku, you input your floor number on a panel outside the elevator, and once inside, there are no buttons – it takes you directly to your floor. There's a mini-supermarket conveniently located next to the Hilton Garden Inn's front desk, which is great for guests to stock up on food. Breakfast was reasonably varied, and I'd rate the taste about 7/10."

"Excellent hostel, newly reopened after renovations. Everything is new: beds, mattresses, pillows, linens, and the kitchen has new, good dishes. The staff is very polite and helpful! The hostel is on the 4th floor, but there's an elevator. There's a police station in the courtyard, which adds to the peace of mind. Laundry is free if you bring your own detergent; otherwise, it's about 2-3 manat. Large towels are also available for rent for 2 manat; they gave me a small one (though it's average-sized) for free. There's no coffee or salt on duty yet, but I think that's because they've just opened. Highly recommend!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 We were 3 friends staying at this hotel, and honestly, it was a great experience. The rooms were clean, the environment was comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. For this price, I think it’s one of the best hotels you can find. It’s a little far from the main tourist spots, but nothing major — you can easily reach them within 10 minutes by cab. Overall, totally worth it. Highly recommended!"

The hotel itself is very beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. Every day, the water (which was delicious) and toiletries were restocked. It's only a two-minute walk to the Old Town. There's a lot of food at breakfast, though I wouldn't say all of it is tasty, but there's a wide selection. You can try local cheeses. The staff brings delicious coffee right to your table. BUT there's ONE HUGE DOWNSIDE: the bars outside the window!!! Music blares until late at night and then again from 7 AM! At 1 AM, I had to put in earplugs, and even then, I could only fall asleep with them in because it felt like the music was playing right in my room. I specifically requested a quiet room because I had read about this issue in another review. Upon arrival, I reminded them again, and they promised me the room would be quiet. Yet, in the evening after our excursion, we were greeted by booming bass and music filling the entire room! Even after that, the reception insisted it was a quiet room... Silence is important to me, so despite all the hotel's positives, I won't be staying here again.

I stayed for four nights in total. This hotel offers great value for money, the facilities are decent, and it's reasonably clean. The only downside was one male receptionist who had a very bad attitude. The young women I encountered on the first and last day, however, were very friendly. Honestly, for just over 300 a night, especially in a foreign country, I didn't expect exceptional service. But I do expect basic friendliness and respect. That guy had a completely blank expression the whole time and wouldn't open his mouth if he could help it. Anyway, apart from that specific person, it was a pretty good stay overall.

This was my second stay at the hotel. After returning from Gabala, I chose to stay here again based on my previous positive experience, even though there are other good hotels in more prime locations. However, this time my experience was disappointing. Although I booked the same room category at the same price, the room was much smaller than before. Some facilities did not work properly, the curtains could not be operated by remote as it was broken. The bathroom was ok, but not as good as the previous room. The air conditioning was not working, and after several complaints, a technician was finally sent. Room service was also not as good as during my first stay. Overall, this stay was disappointing.

Located just outside Baku's Old City at 6:00 AM, the hotel is very convenient for exploring and dining on foot. The Caspian Sea is just across the road from the hotel, and Baku's Old City is right behind it. It's a 10-minute walk to the pedestrian street. The front desk service was good, the breakfast was plentiful, and overall, the stay was quite pleasant.

Review of Oldcity Inn Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan I recently stayed at the Oldcity Inn Hotel in Baku, located in the heart of the historical Old City. While the location is undeniably charming, right in the center of Baku’s historical landmarks, my experience left much to be desired. Pros: Location: The hotel is situated in the very center of Baku's historical Old City, which offers a unique atmosphere with its ancient architecture and cultural significance. Reception Staff: The staff at the reception were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I liked the girl at the hotel reception, who was very kind with the cat. The hotel had a very cute cat, who came into the hotel in the evening and left in the morning. However, despite their kindness, they were unable to provide much help with guest problems such as transportation and logistics. Cons: Cleanliness: The hotel did not provide daily cleaning services, which was disappointing and below the standards I expect from any accommodation. Accessibility Issues: Check-in/Check-out Stress: My biggest issue was with the overall experience of entering and leaving the Old City area. Police and security guards surround the area with barriers, preventing taxis or any other transportation from entering without paying bribes. Tourists are forced to carry their heavy luggage for 2-3 kilometers, which is incredibly difficult, especially after long flights. After an hour of negotiation and paying a 12 AZN bribe (with no receipt or clear explanation), I was finally allowed to enter the area. Similarly, during checkout, the police fined a taxi driver 100 AZN just for waiting outside the Old City to pick me up. This created an extremely stressful situation that overshadowed the beauty of the location. Corruption and Mismanagement: The corruption among local police and security guards was shocking and disappointing. Tourists are regularly stopped and extorted for bribes, making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. There were no clear guidelines on how tourists are supposed to manage transportation in and out of the Old City, and no support from the hotel or authorities on this matter. Conclusion: While the Old City is undeniably a historical gem, I cannot recommend staying at the Oldcity Inn Hotel or any other accommodation within this area due to the severe accessibility challenges, the corrupt practices of local authorities, and the overall stress it creates for tourists. If you plan to visit Baku, I suggest staying outside the Old City and visiting the area during the day to enjoy its history without dealing with these logistical nightmares.

The staff was great! They assisted me with many taxis and even helped me order late night food. The room service food was phenomenal as well. The breakfast quality varied but had a variety of things. Now, the room. My tv was broken and shifted the colors on screen like it was a prism in a tornado. My lights didn’t work for about a day and the room was next to the elevator. Location was a bit out of the way, but at least taxis are cheap!
