"To all future guests, look no further! I've personally tested this place, and it's truly a hidden gem. This was by far the most satisfying and comfortable hotel/B&B I stayed at during my trip to Yunnan. The overall style is warm and elegant, beautifully decorated with great taste. It's super photogenic, day or night. Every single corner of the hotel was impeccably clean, from the lounge to the rooms—not a speck of dust. The toiletries were also top-notch. The surrounding area is pleasant, and it's super close to the ancient city, just about a five-minute walk. What I loved most, most, most, most, MOST was how incredibly enthusiastic and thoughtful all the staff were. After check-in, they brought a fruit plate, and in the morning, the owner personally cooked breakfast. The breakfast was incredibly rich and hearty! Even the resident pets (Moutai Manager, the dog, and Cola Manager, the cat) were super friendly. I'm truly, truly, truly satisfied – it's the first time I've stayed at a hotel and didn't want to leave!"

"This hotel is really unique and beautiful. The location is excellent too, right near Moonlight Square. The room has electric heating, and the bathroom also has a warm air blower for showers. The front desk staff, especially the young man, was very enthusiastic and friendly. Breakfast is a buffet with rice noodles, congee, side dishes, white fungus dessert, and even yak butter tea."

"We had a wonderful stay at Lisman. The property offered a complimentary pick-up service from the train station. The manager, Ah Cheng, personally welcomed us upon arrival. As we had not planned an itinerary, he kindly proposed several activities, including nearby horse riding and a photo shoot within the property.
One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary use of traditional costumes for the photo session, with the option to include makeup services. The property also arranged for a professional photographer, which made the experience even more memorable.
The property also featured three charming Alaskan Malamute dogs, as well as a variety of farm animals—including goats, a pony, ducks, and swans—which we were able to include in our photo shoot.
Unfortunately, my friend was injured during the horse-riding experience, and the hotel staff demonstrated genuine concern by providing ice packs, first aid assistance, and consistently checking in on her throughout our stay.
We really had a pleasant stay here and would love to return again!"

"I initially booked this hotel hoping to experience snow, but unfortunately it wasn’t our luck this year. Even so I was still extremely excited because the view here is absolutely breathtaking. The natural scenery is so beautiful and peaceful , truly a joy to wake up to every day.
One of the highlights of this hotel is the surrounding area which is full of animals such as sheep, alpacas, horses, huskies and ducks. We could interact and play with them which made the stay even more special and memorable.
The room was very beautiful, comfortable and most importantly very clean. On top of that we felt truly welcomed by all the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Ah Yang, front desk and the rest of the team 🫶🏻 even though we couldn’t speak Mandarin, it was never an issue. They went out of their way to assist us and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay.
I would definitely come back here again, and hopefully next time we’ll be lucky enough to see the snow 😊"

"This guesthouse is truly exceptional. We arrived in Shangri-La by high-speed train, and the owner arranged two cars to pick us up directly from the station and even came out to greet us personally – so welcoming! The room was spotless, and they provided both regular and disposable towels. All the toiletries, including shampoo, body wash, and moisturizer, were also disposable, which is perfect for germaphobes (like me) who don't want to carry these items. On our second day, we went to Meili. When the owner heard our plans, they thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us in advance, even adding a personalized note on the bag. Such attention to detail is truly rare in a guesthouse. This place genuinely cares; it feels like they're looking after family, not just guests, and running a home, not just a hotel! If I'm lucky enough to return to Shangri-La, I'll definitely choose Yanlu again!"

"Facilities: Although the page says 2015, this is your best choice in Shangri-La. The facilities are so complete, you won't want to leave your room or even the hotel itself.
Cleanliness: Extremely clean and tidy. Even if you're a germaphobe or sensitive to certain smells, you'll be comfortable here.
Service: The staff are gentle and the service is excellent.
Highly recommended! You must save this one.
If you're young, there's a really nice bar downstairs.
If you're a foodie, the location is superb, with everything you could want within a 1km radius.
If you're older, it's quiet and comfortable here. Wake up in the morning and gaze at the mountains – it's all-encompassing.
As for why I spontaneously changed my booking? If you truly enjoy staying in luxurious rural settings, Jianglu is nestled in the fields, but not being able to see the rooms beforehand isn't very accommodating! You could try the cafe out in the middle of nowhere, but I don't know the prices.

"The front desk staff were very helpful. When we asked them where to eat authentic ******* cuisine, they answered all our questions and gave reliable recommendations. They even upgraded us to a 'Gongyang' room for free, though I'm not entirely sure how to use all its features. The hotel is good and offers great value for money. I hope the cleanliness can be further improved, as the floor outside the shower wasn't properly mopped. Perhaps due to the lighting, the cleaning staff might not have seen it clearly."

"Cute and welcoming hotel!! We arrived very late after a long drive and the owner waited for us to greet us and check us in, and even upgraded us which was a real treat! The room itself was very spacious and equipped with everything, there was a bathtub and shower, and also a small porch. Bed was comfortable. The only problem is that it’s a bit far from the old town and the main attractions in the city, but we definitely recommend if you like staying in a quiet area and have a car!"

"Our stay at Banshan Tanye Manor was absolutely fantastic! First off, I have to commend the cleanliness – the bedding was spotless and odorless, and the bathroom facilities were so clean they practically sparkled. You could really tell how much effort the cleaning staff put in. Secondly, the scenery was breathtaking. The manor's location is perfect, offering panoramic views of Shangri-La's blue skies, white clouds, and grasslands from its hillside perch. Watching the sunset from the terrace in the evening was a true little joy during our trip. The service was also incredibly thoughtful, making the overall value for money outstanding!"

This stay was truly captivating, and the owner's hospitality captivated me! My sister highly recommended this homestay in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner, Zhuoma, proactively asked about our itinerary from the moment we booked. Upon arrival, she not only provided a detailed and practical guide to Shangri-La, but also shared tips on hidden gems and pitfalls to avoid. It was even more reliable than a handy guide.
The most heartwarming thing was that as soon as we dropped off our luggage, the owner brought us hot yak milk. It warmed me up and instantly dispelled my travel fatigue. The amenities were even more amazing. The entire home is equipped with smart home technology, allowing for voice control of lights and curtains, making it incredibly easy to use. The furniture is all brand new and high-quality, and it's clear the owner put a lot of thought into the renovations, making the stay both comfortable and technologically advanced.
The view from the window is incredibly thoughtful, and this homestay is simply divine!
The room I stayed in this time truly took full advantage of its ”view room” status. In the morning, as I pulled back the heavy blackout curtains, the view before me was breathtaking: directly across from me was the lush greenery of Guishan Park, and the large prayer wheel atop the mountaintop was so clear it seemed almost palpable. Especially in the evening, the setting sun cast a warm glow on the prayer wheel, and even the people circumambulating the park could be vaguely seen. I didn't have to squeeze into the crowds at the observation deck; I could quietly enjoy this unique view from my room. The photos I took and posted on WeChat Moments were met with inquiries about the address.
Even more touching was the thoughtful attention to detail at the B&B. Considering the local climate and altitude, an oxygen concentrator was pre-installed in the room. The owner came to teach me how to use it. When I occasionally felt a little hypoxic at night, I turned it on and immediately felt much better. Hanging in the closet was a thick, complimentary down jacket. The clean, simple design meant I didn't have to carry heavy clothing, and I wore it when I went out to visit the park or see the prayer wheels, offering both windproof and warmth. This thoughtful consideration of the guests' needs was even more heartwarming than the scenery itself. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! When we checked out, the owner even prepared a Vajra knot, a local ******* gift, for my girlfriend and me. It was a thoughtful gesture, and it was truly heartwarming. The entire experience was not only comfortable, but also felt like visiting a friend's home. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

We stayed here with our family and had a truly wonderful experience. The place is very clean, peaceful, and beautifully located close to nature. What touched us the most was how kind and caring the staff and the owner are. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and always made sure we were comfortable.
During our stay, one of our family members needed to go to the hospital, and the owner and staff personally helped us, even driving us there and taking care of everything. Their support and kindness went far beyond what we expected, and we are deeply grateful.
This is a perfect place for families. There are animals around such as dogs, cats, and birds, which made the experience even more special and joyful for us. The atmosphere feels warm, safe, and welcoming, just like home.
We are very, very happy to have stayed here and truly appreciate everything they did for us. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Shangri-La, especially families looking for a caring and heartfelt place to stay.

They also offer afternoon tea, an animal feeding experience, and travel photography services. Plus, there are three adorable Alaskan Malamutes that are incredibly well-behaved and gentle. The butler service was attentive and replies were prompt. The value for money is absolutely amazing. I'll definitely come back again!

FFatinsyafiraNow I totally understand why this hotel gets so much love. We stayed here for 3 night, and we really love our stay.
First, the location is perfect. you can just walk to everywhere. If you take Didi, they can drop you off in front of the entrance.
The hotel has everything you need, like floor heating, a humidifier, and even oxygen supply (which honestly saved us). The dry air and high altitude are no joke, we had AMS and nosebleeds, so this was super helpful. Also washing machine and drier is provided.
And the owner is amazingly kind and helpful. They helped with our luggage, booked tickets for us, and even arranged transportation for us to Potatso National Park.

The food was another highlight of the stay. Whether it was breakfast or room service, everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The variety was great, and every meal felt like a nice treat.
We really appreciated the little details that made the stay extra pleasant. Service was consistently fast and friendly, and the overall environment was calm and relaxing.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's decor is really nice, and the staff are very friendly. The owner even drove us to the bus station. The room design is exquisite, and there's a rooftop terrace. It's a shame I discovered it too late; it would have been great for photos in the evening.
The only truly unpleasant experience wasn't at the hotel itself, but related to the Thangka painting experience they offered. I got a voucher from the front desk, and when I went to the experience shop, the staff there said registration would take 2 hours. I told them I wouldn't have enough time and would skip it. At the same time, I just turned around to see what other people in the shop were doing – it looked like they were all stamping something. The receptionist there had an absolutely terrible attitude; she said I couldn't look or go in. I found this very strange, as I explained I was just looking and was still in the main hall. She insisted I had to wait for someone to explain it to me. So, at that moment, I couldn't even move, and she just kept talking at me, while I simply wanted to see what people were stamping. I was truly speechless by that level of service!

Room is spacious, clean and equipped with smart electronics, where you can watch movie or music with big projector. Even toilet bowl has its own sensors to auto open and auto flush.
A human designed room where everything js being considered, separated toilet and shower, 2 water basin.
We were welcomed with hot milk. Highly recommended!

The room was exceptionally clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable; I felt the travel fatigue melt away as soon as I lay down. The soundproofing was also excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and all the toiletries were provided, including a powerful hairdryer, which was really convenient.

They provide us with selection of halal breakfast, ada free coffee & cookies di Heidou Cafe (of coz free), boleh get some nice picture with tibet costume. Bilik dia as you see in their photo. Selesa and cantik. Also before check out they give us some souvenir. Recommended to stay here. Also location dia sebelah je dengan Li siman hotel. L isiman harga ehem2 sikit but kat sini harga dia seriously affordable but same stunning view.

GGuest UserThis hotel is so thoughtfully designed! You can see ******* cultural decorations everywhere, like the carpets and wood carvings, which give it a really authentic feel. What's even more interesting is the large collection of books in the room, many of them about local culture, which was a joy to browse through in the evenings.
I also have to praise the front desk staff – both the young lady and gentleman were incredibly enthusiastic. They proactively recommended interesting places to visit, making it feel like you're staying with local friends. It was a truly comfortable experience!
