We stayed overnight with our motor home and ate dinner in the restaurant. We had the mixed bonbons to start, which was a trio of red and white pudding and haggis, each with their own sauce. The main courses were fish & chips, venison burger and the smash burger which were all excellent. My son and I agree that the smash burger was the best burger we’d ever had. Definitely recommended.

We knew it would be a budget stay when we booked. We didn’t expect anything special and that’s ok. But what I didn’t expect was the feeling that we were not welcomed. From the very start from the check in process to the drink at the bar we felt most unwelcome and therefore were uncomfortable. We booked 3 nights stayed 1 and had to leave. Thank goodness we found an incredible place last minute. The person who checked us in was also the barkeep. She may have been overwhelmed, overworked and or wore too many hats. I’m not sure. The place was empty except for 4 locals in the bar She was friendly with them. Very short with us. The room was decent considering the price. But I couldn’t get over the way this employee whom I think was the manager according to one of the local patrons at the bar, I felt more and more uneasy as the night went on. Mind you we only had 1 drink at the bar and decided to call it a night which was only 4 pm. We decided to leave first thing in the morning. Upon checking out this manager (employee) is no where to be found except taking photos of our car. I greeted her good morning and she’s quickly trying to scurry away. I asked her if it was OK that we had parked there and she said yes she just needed to pick up our car. I told her that we were leaving and thanked her. It was like twilight zone. Very strange.

Arrived here for our 2nd night stay doing the NC500 on motorbikes - massive private carpark at the rear with seating area for customers to have a drink and meals. The room was very clean, with a super shower and bathroom. Bed was also very comfy, with lovely cotton bedding. Staff were very friendly and offered a couple of gluten free choices for my evening meal. I chose the chicken, which was delicious. Unfortunately no gluten free desserts, apart from the usual ice cream. Good selection for breakfast in the morning, gluten free bread, which they cooked in the oven rather than the toaster, to meet my coeliac needs.

We were quite disappointed overall, the food was basic and over priced, no wine list, when I asked for a large wine, I queried the measure and was then told it only came in small bottles, it wasn't even chilled when asked what selection of rums they had we were told to go through to the bar to check for ourselves,

The food was excellent, location is spot on and very easy to park at. The only thing i didnt like was how much was neglected in cleaning. Under the bed was layers of dust, obviously not cleaned for weeks.

Comfortable, clean and charming! Very friendly staff and breakfast made to order. There were traditional Scottish and traditional Western breakfast options, including haggis, and all was delicious. I am gluten free, and the dinner menu has vegetarian, vegan and gluten free labeled options. I would stay here again!
