Brick Box Hotel @ Oldtown Ipoh Reviews

I was very satisfied with my stay. What I liked most was the hotel's location, right in the heart of Ipoh Old Town, with many famous coffee shops, eateries, and attractions nearby, mostly within walking distance, which was incredibly convenient. The room was spacious, much larger than I expected, comfortable to stay in, and didn't feel cramped. The hygiene was good, and the overall environment was clean. If I had to mention a drawback, it would be that the hotel doesn't provide exclusive parking. If you're driving, you'll need to find parking nearby. However, considering the hotel's prime city center location, this is acceptable. Overall, considering the location, room size, and price, the value for money is quite good, and I would recommend it.

Cosy and clean. Love the brick theme. Location is good. It’s near the alley with the street food and shops.

It really like a box haha, there’s weird smell when i first enter the room. Was lucky enough, the staff offered me free upgrade to queen size bed haha. Not sure why the TV wasn’t working the time i am there though. All the popular spots around. It only good if you have short stay and just need a place to to store your stuff, cause it a little stuffy for me

Decent stay for a short weekend trip to explore the city for food and its history. Location is perfect, literally walking distance from Ipoh train station and to the surrounding places of interest in the old town. The only downside is I can hear noises from outside the room, expecially when other guests are walking and dragging luggages along the corridor.

The experience is more on “homestay” than a hotel. Staff can be seen didn’t have an hospitality experience. No toothbrush/toothpaste provided. No hairdryer. No tissue paper. No shampoo. Only toilet paper and body shower available. Which is not good enough. Location wise; good and convenient.

Not very impressed. The room didn't look clean, and the AC was slow to cool because it was dusty. The TV was unwatchable. Feeling disappointed. The only upside is its location in the heart of the Old Town, which makes it easy to walk around, and it's not expensive.

The room just like the name bricks,very basic but clean,using dim lightings.Easy access and walking distance to concubine lane n eateries.Abit challenge to find parking as its surrounded by banks. Simplified amenities,with TV but not functioning. For us its just a cabin to rest n shower.

The room was a bit damp. It has an industrial style. It's okay for one night.

Nice budget hotel for budget travellers. Easy access and very nearby to Masjid and restaurants.

There was a misunderstanding about the tax that was paid twice, by card first, then by cash but the owner refunded me, the 10 rigngits. The glass on the nightstand was broken. The shower flow was irregular. The other visitors were quiet at night. They forgot to put a cup next to the kettle.... You can get free water on the ground floor from the dispenser.

The location is nearby the Cocubine Lane within 5 minutes walk。It has secure lock after midnight to come in the hotel so is safe. The room wall is just like the name bricks . It has very strong mouldy smell. Bed is not comfortable will sink when sleep. There is tV but no allow to ON it . no provide bottle water and also no provide slipper for bathroom,no toothbrush.The bathroom water no partition with toilet so have to becareful slippery after shower . Soundproof not that good .
