I spent 28 days at the Frobisher Inn while working in Iqaluit and I fully recommend it to anyone visiting. It is a great and comfortable hotel, in a fantastic location. With a grocery store, restaurant, pub, movie theatre and gym inside the building you never need to go outside. The staff are great and very friendly, Anna and Marjorie in particular went out of their way to help us with anything we needed.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise as was the main restuarant, The Frob. Room was clean and confortable. There was a bar fridge, microwave and a coffee maker with a selection of 6 different flavours of coffee. We requested a bay view room and had a room with a nice view. If you are staying for more than a night or two this location is nice as there have many other amendities which can be accessed from inside the hotel. It is a little further from town than some other hotels, as it is on a hill, but it is still walking distance to most places.

I have stayed at the Frob many times on business. During my most recent trip I experienced a few glitches but the manager, Muhammad rectified everything to my satisfaction. Not only did he help me but did so with undivided attention and care. Muhammad is clearly customer service focused and displayed exemplary manners and etiquette. In the past whenever I have gone to the front desk with issues I have been dismissed with the greatest of disinterest. Muhammad was a polar opposite. The Frobisher is very fortunate to have Muhammad managing their establishment.

Very good customer service, friendly and helpful. A big thanks to: Sharon, Jimma, Anna, Michelle, Ismael and Alona and Ramiel in housekeeping. It's a great venue with a cinema, supermarket, tech store, pharmacy, post office, hotel restaurant and bar and grill ALL in the same block. Restaurant staff were friendly and polite and serve delicious meals. I felt safe and warm and really enjoyed the ambience. I highly recommend a stay at The Frob

I chose Frobisher Inn for the convenient location to sites I wanted to walk to in Iqaluit, as well as amenities (two restaurants, one café, and a grocery all in the same building). The staff here are incredibly friendly, polite, and cheerful. The room I have is on 5th floor, and has a comfortable bed, business-friendly desk, and clean bathroom with toilet, bath, and shower. The hotel is overall good, but a collection of odd paradoxes. Heat in the room was barely sufficient, but the duvet was remarkably warm and kept me comfortable. The water out of the tap is surprisingly good. The Frob Kitchen & Eatery had good food and super-friendly service, but is closed on Saturdays (strange). The grocery store in the building can be accessed from inside the hallway by pressing the call button; they have (typical for Iqaluit) high prices but decent selection. The microwave did not work, but I did not want to delay my time requesting replacement of that; not important enough to complain about. One of my pillows has what appears to be a permanent stain, but the linens smell fresh, and passing a housekeeping cart, I could see they replace duvet covers and sheets. The room was overall clean, but has the look and feel of a somewhat dated Travel Lodge or Red Roof Inn. Remember this is an extremely small town (only around 8000 people) and so you should not expect big-city quality and amenities, in general. I am glad I stayed here and would stay here again. The super-friendly service makes up for any shortcomings.

Actually much better than I expected - I've been to Iqaluit many times before (admittedly when it was 1/3 its current size) but the only time I had been to the Frobisher Inn was when its bar was a notoriously dodgy place to drink in town. But coming back to Nunavut older and wiser I decided to stay here and was pleasantly surprised. Reception was professional and friendly and the room was bigger and nicer than I had expected (I think I paid to upgrade to a "better than basic" when booking). Similar to a better than average Courtyard by Marriott or Hampton Inn in the south. A pleasant surprise was a decent sized bathtub which was a welcome addition after walking around all day in -20 temps. The one wrinkle was Internet access - its been so long since I was constrained by MB limits that I burned through my allowance in a little over a day and the front desk staff didn't know how I could pay for more. But since that's satellite data, it's reasonable and was nice while it lasted. Overall I would recommend staying here and plan to return when I'm next in Iqaluit. I was tempted to stay at the new Aqsarniit, but that's further out of town and I had heard enough mixed reviews of the Discovery that I was leery. Price paid was reasonable for the location and I like that there are multiple food choices in the Astro Hill complex.

The kitchenette room was clean and comfortable with a big tv, nice lighting, and lots of storage. They provided Mauds Kureg coffee in many flavours , and if something didn’t work they immediately fixed it. The view was spectacular, and Marjorie at the front desk was very sweet and personable. It was so convenient to have the movie theatre, Post Office fitness centre, and grocery store in the same building along with other amenities. The meals at the Frob were amazing as well! My only complaint is the heater. It shuddered every time it came on or off and kept waking me up. They could not fix it.

I was very happy with my stay. The room is quite comfortable and tasteful. The bed was excellent. I found the staff very accommodating, including Marjorie and others at the desk. I would definitely stay here again

This is a 3.5-star hotel at best, but I’ll bump it up to 4 stars due to the incredibly friendly staff here, who were always good-natured and helpful. In all honesty, this is a very dated property, perhaps something like a Quality Inn from the 1990’s. The bathroom, most especially, felt like that. The shower-tub had very little water pressure in the shower. I was happy to have a safe in the room, but it didn’t work at all. The TV was complicated to figure out (with two remotes), and I needed more than one visit from the staff to understand how to work it. Every day was a new problem with it. The cable package was great, with lots of selections. There are two onsite restaurants and both are very expensive. I opted to eat more cheaply using the market that is part of the complex. I had one lunch at the hotel’s bistro, and it was good, though pricey. Overall, my stay was pleasant, especially thanks to the hospitality of the staff. The views of the bay from the room were wonderful and perhaps made up for the extremely high cost of the room. This is a solid basic-level hotel.
