Kinloch Ainort Apartments

Had minor issues with clogged toilet on our last morning before leaving. Nothing major though. Overall, it was a fantastic stay with awesome morning views of the sun rising over the mountains. We will be staying here again next time we get out this way!

This studio apartment was very well put together with quality items. A comfortable bed and the best pillows of our entire 3 week trip! The laundry facility was a bonus , but as another traveler mentioned “ use the 1/2 hour program”otherwise you will spend over 2 hours checking if clothes are finished washing! The only drawback for my husband and I was the area was quite remote and without a car there was no way to get to and from without a very expensive taxi ride. I wish I had known this before I booked as there was nothing on Trip Advisor mentioned.

My mom and I had the perfect stay at Kinloch Ainort Apartments! The hotel is situated in a picturesque setting on a sheep farm and is a 15 minute drive to Broadford which has shops and restaurants and is also less than a 45 minute drive from almost everything on the Isle of Skye. The host, Kenny, was very responsive and helpful upon check-in. The hotel room was clean, well designed and had all the amenities you could need, the available laundry was also a nice bonus! We’ll definitely be staying here again upon returning to Scotland!

OK, start with the idea of staying in a half-converted sheep shed (one half is 4 rental units, the other half is a working farm shed), place it on a remote single-track road that is closed due to a landslide at the far end, with nothing else nearby but the owners house up the road, and it sounds kind of odd. Having said that, it was absolutely WONDERFUL! We stayed there three nights, met a lot of folks coming and going (they also permit RVs to camp in the parking area), and loved every minute. The views of the surrounding mountains are unparalleled. It also sits on a tidal loch, so you get the salt-water fragrance with seagulls, hillsides covered with heather and old walking trails, a small flock of sheep that graze onsite, and it is just magical. The room itself was large, airy, and had great and complete kitchen facilities.

This apartment was the highlight of our stay in Skye. The owner was helpful and welcoming and had put so much thought into everything. The apartment and bathroom were finished to the highest quality with underfloor heating - but we were so cosy the heating didn't even go on! It's a studio apartment with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. There is an excellent washing utility room with brand new washers and dryers (we got soaked three times in one day so this was very welcome!) There is a massive window to watch the loch and, as it's situated on a sheep farm, the sheep will come by the window to graze. We watched the farmer and his dog round them up one day - which was a treat for us city folk :) Excellently located for day trips to all parts of Skye (we visited as many as we could), with local shops about 15 minutes away, and situated on the edge of a beautiful and peaceful loch. The owner left a book of walks that was well used during our stay. Behind the apartment is a disused road, and you can walk along it for 30 minutes or more in each direction to get excellent views of the loch from all sides (and without traffic). I cannot recommend this apartment or the owner enough - this was the best part of our Scotland Adventure and we wished we had stayed longer.
