It's a cute little hotel placed in the middle of uphill mahala. On the first sight you might be terrified by the mahala, but then you realize it's all the part of it charm, actually. Bad side is also the staff that doesn't speak english or just a little bit ... very little bit🙄, but they are kind enough to show you by body language and by gestures 😁 where your room is and then you find yoirself in a very interesting spot😁. Our room was on the second flor. Ask if you can second or the third flor, because the first two are in the basement🤨. After you come in the room, you find yourself in the midle of Dolmbaşçe palace😂🤣. I even think their enterier designer was inspired by that palace?!? The room is a little too ornate, for my taste. Too many ornate details, plush upholstery, draperies, bed covers ...but some could like that ... room is very clean and specious, though. Bathroom is also clean. You have everything you need there: soups, shampoo, hairdrier (not very strong and powerful, so if you need some long hair drying....don't even start). The big NO NO ... is a mold!!! I've read before I went there that guests had problem with moldy rooms and I thought they over reacted. They did not!!! The whole window side, above them, is filled with mold, so we kept our windows open all the time, to prevent the mold oder...!?! The other issue,no one can control are the seagulls. Every morning they are fighting over some near dumpsters, so they get veeeery loud. All in all,it's a good and decent place to stay. No far from the main attractions (tops 10 mins. walking), and nearby restoraunts are excellent as well... so, yes, I will recommend this hotel to the people!

We stayed here in August 2022 as a family of 4 with 2 young teenage kids for 2 nights. Due to our flight times the second night we would be checking out at around 3am so essentially a night and a half. Hotel and room were relatively clean. We had a single and double bed and a fold-out sofa bed. The decor is very ornate. Shampoo, shower gel, hand wash and towels were provided. There’s a safe in the wardrobe. Kettle provided. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge to keep drinks cold. The hotel is located close to the blue mosque - around 8-10 min walk (follow google maps walking routes or you will get lost and confused) however the walk involves very steep hills and often with uneven pavements so not suitable for young children, elderly or anyone with mobility or certain healthissues. There are some local shops within a 2 minute walk - small grocery shop, pastry/cafe, souvenir/gift shop and some restaurants. Vehicles, including mini vans, can access the hotel entrance however the roads around their are extremely tight. Staff are polite, friendly and helpful and helped with carrying luggage to and from our vehicle and to and from our room. The air con worked well. Fast Wi-Fi which worked well in the room and lobby. The hotel has an elevator. At the end of the small is a busy road with lots of cars passing by including taxis so you can wave one down here. Prices are expensive so haggle and agree a price beforehand and don’t be afraid to say no and wait for another vacant taxi to pass by. When travelling out or back in consider walking. Traffic is often horrendous and at one stage a 10-15 min taxi drive took 1 hour and we ended up walking back the last few minutes. On the evening of the second day we found a bed bug crawling on the pillow whilst my son was laying on it - just as we were planning to go out. We killed the bug and left the pillow out in the hallway. Not wanting to bring these unwanted pests back home with us, we began thoroughly checking for more bed bugs on and under the mattress and bed. As we had just got back from a day of shopping we had to quickly pack our shopping away. Check our luggage for any bed bugs and stacked them up and away from the beds. We lost about 2 hours doing this. We went out for the evening and informed the hotel and they went out and bought a can of raid bug spray. Not much we can do with as it’s not ideal to use this in a room we are sleeping in and with a child with asthma and it doesn’t act as a big repellent. This was a massive let down to, what was, an uneventful stay up to this point. We had booked a mini van for our return transfer to Istanbul airport through the hotel for 3.35 - 3.45 am. We were ready early and left the room at around 3am expecting to wait in the lobby but the mini van was already waiting for us. The ride to the airport took around 40 minutes. I would have given the hotel a 4 star review if it wasn’t for the bed bugs.

Good location is canceled out by steep road from hotel to main road. 2 floor are actually in the basement, so if you are unlucky you'll have to stay in room without day light. But main problem? Dirty sheets. Really unacceptable dirty sheets. Towels? Same dirty. I know it's cheap, but no hotel can have this kind of mess.

This is a 3 star hotel, October rates approx. €48 per night. I would recommend for singles or couples on a budget wishing to stay close to the historic city. There's quite a steep climb from the hotel to the road but much of Istanbul is built on hills. I wasn't happy with the room I was allocated to begin with but after 2 nights was moved to a much larger room with a blacony on the top floor without additional cost. So I was very impressed with the staff, particularly Kasim who was very keen to ensure the guests were happy. Rooms were cleaned every day. The shower in both rooms I stayed in supplied only a trickle on warm/hot. In the summer this won't be a problem but in October with long hair it wasn't ideal. Also the in room safe didn't work but I had my passport locked in my baggage and it wasn't tampered with. Finally I have to say that the area felt very safe. I was wondering around late at night all over Fatih and I had no problems whatsoever. It's genuinely friendly as well and I didn't have hardly any vendors trouble me either. Grab some coffee and pastries and try and get to Hagia Sophia an hour before opening i.e. 8am. You'll be one of the first in and won't have your photos ruined by hundreds of people waving phones in the air!

The front desk asked us to pay in cash. So all guests had to go and draw Turkish Lire at the last moment. The owner came 2 minutes before our tranfers and explained that the money was already deducted from my credit card. But FIS left me with 19 000 tl cash just before leaving Turkey. I had to change it and lost R 3 500. Hamza was the only helpful person there. The toilet seat in our room was broken throughout our stay. They moved 4 of our guests to an outside apartment Deniz place, it smelled of mold. Location was close to all attractions but in a dodgy street. Will not recommend
