Unjustified extra charges from cash deposit at The Marmara Pera. Booked a room-only stay via Trip.com. At check-in, we were asked for a $100 cash deposit. Upon check-out, the hotel withheld $35, claiming we had breakfast. We did not use the breakfast service at all. Staff refused to review CCTV on the spot to prove it. Also, key cards were disabled at 11:30 AM before the official 12:00 PM check-out time. Thanks to Trip.com customer support for stepping in and helping resolve this issue on their side, but the hotel front desk practice with deposits is highly disappointing.

Great location, but not worth the price Pros: * Great location * Very friendly and helpful staff * Nice rooftop with a pool (although the pool is quite small) * Comfortable bed * Nice room with a great view Cons: * The gym is honestly a joke and not really usable. * After 6 pm, another provider takes over the rooftop and turns it into a bar. As a hotel guest, you apparently can’t stay there unless you buy a drink. Seriously? I’m already paying to stay at the hotel. This was really disappointing, especially since the rooftop and pool were one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. * The bathroom is very old and shabby and definitely needs renovation. * The hairdryer looks like it’s from another century. Overall, the hotel has a great location, friendly staff and a beautiful rooftop, but for the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard. The outdated bathroom, useless gym and especially the rooftop situation after 6 pm really brought the experience down.

The hotel is maintained adequately, the staff are professional and helpful, and the location is very good and convenient.

Fantastic stay! Perfect service. Very early check-in and upgrade were the best presents for my birthday. And the view is the best in Istanbul. Thank you for the excellent stay! Highly recommended

The best advantage of this hotel is its location, next to restaurants and bars. Heart of Istanbul. However, for those who value peace and quiet, this can also be a drawback, as in the evenings there is a lot of music and noise, especially noticeable on the first floor (it may be quieter on higher levels). The hotel itself is fairly clean, well-kept, and relatively new compared to many others in Istanbul. Breakfast is definitely worth including – it’s excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options, Turkish tea and coffee, and even made-to-order omelets. Staff don’t rush you out when breakfast time ends, and they keep replenishing dishes, which is a big plus. On the downside, the reception could be friendlier, and the staff’s English level is quite limited. For example, when we requested extra bedding, room service brought us fries instead. Additionally, in September the rooms were cold, and unfortunately only the air conditioning worked – the heating did not. The restaurant downstairs, Pera 77, offers live music in the evenings. In our case, the singer was late, performed only a few songs, then took a break and never returned before we left. Food quality was mixed: the soup and cheese platter were good, but the steak was tasteless and the fries soggy. Overall, the hotel is a good option if you want a lively location with outstanding breakfasts, but be aware of noise and some service limitations.

Greta hotel. Loved the decor. Rooftop was a big plus. Location was excellent.

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff is professional, operations are smooth and service is fantastic.location is ideal and in a safe, popular urban area. Would definitely stay here again. 10/10

The room also smelled old. Even though I told the reception, they didn't do anything about it. I can understand that, maybe they were busy. But then on Saturday at 10:00 AM, there was construction noise, drilling, for hours, either from the room above me or next door, I'm not sure. I went there to relax for the weekend, and that was a big mistake.

The hotel was not as expected. While the location is good, the rooms were very cramped and uncomfortable. The staff were rude and judgmental, which made the stay unpleasant. Overall, it did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend it.

The bar downstairs was incredibly noisy on Saturday night. If you're someone who needs to be asleep before midnight, this place will definitely affect you.

Nice hotel in a great central location near eateries, bars and sites. Close to good transport links. Room was a bit hot at night and it was noisy with the window open. Shower wasn’t great. Jazz bar looked enticing but drinks were a bit pricey. Service was good and housekeeping was great, providing ergonomic pillows on request.

The hotel is in a very good location. The breakfast is fantastic. However, it's clear that the rooms have been the same for years and need renovation.
