The glass house was amazing; my friend got up in the middle of the night to see the aurora borealis! We arrived at night, and the road signs weren't very clear. They provide breakfast, lunch, or a choice of dinner. I highly recommend taking a walk around the area! On the other side of the Forest Path, past the sauna, walk down to the river; there's a small cabin where you can start a fire!

A hotel that was a complete surprise. It is 20 minutes' drive from the airport. It is in the woods and the surrounding is very quiet. On the night of check-in, I saw the aurora covering the entire sky. The hotel dinner is not bad, there is raw venison, you can try it if you dare, I have eaten it anyway😅I must go to the sauna, choose the glass room sauna, 50 euros per person, enjoy the snow while sauna, very comfortable! The hotel itself also has some snow sports, such as husky sledding and horse-drawn sledding. All in all, I am very satisfied!

An all inclusive experience! Loved the accomodation with ground to ceiling north facing windows so you can watch the northern lights from bed. Activities were excellent and was the food and staff. Snow gear was provided which coming from Australia was important. Highly recommend!

The purpose of our trip was to see the northern lights and we were not disappointed. The cabins at Aurora Village were all situated with all igloos having a northern view where the aurora activity was most likely. I loved that we did not have to leave our cabin to see the northern lights if we didn’t want to. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. Loved that we could drive right up to our cabin to unload and load our luggage. Though we knew about breakfast being included in the price, dinners being included in the price was a nice surprise. Dinners were a 3-course menu, thoughtfully prepared, delicious, featuring Arctic cuisine and accommodating to both food allergies and preferences. Coffee and tea was available to us all day. Aurora Village was located close to Ivalo village and centrally located if we wanted to do a hike in Saariselka (recommend the hike to Kiilopaa) or activities in Inari (recommend hiking the Juutua loop). We had a wonderful stay! I can’t imagine staying at any other place in the area.

Me and my family went to Aurora Village to see the northern lights, and we gound much more! The hotel is excellent, cabins are beautiful, thhe place is awesome, the people working there are kind and very helpful, all the time willing to enhance our stay and experience. Plenty of activities to do, nice trails to walk. The service is second to none. I highly recommend Aurora Village!!

Our accommodations in the two bedroom cabin was fantastic. No luggage service, so a hand-pulled sled with our luggage in the snow it was. We booked a package, and wanted to make a few adjustments. The front desk staff was less than accommodating. They continued to insist they knew better on our vacation. I need to be direct and state, this is MY vacation and I am willing to pay extra for the experience I want and not the experience YOU want for me. They were insistent, and each time I did one of their pre-arranged activities, they made it a point to tell me they made the right decision for us. If you're not here on a big bus tour, they don't care, as they have your money and don't want the tour operators upset, as they bring business.

A distinctive hotel filled with wonderful positive touches. The infrastructure is excellent, and the cabins are beautifully built with great attention to detail. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from our cabin on the very first night, an unforgettable experience. We booked four tours directly through the hotel, and I would like to highlight how much I appreciated the punctuality. That is extremely important to me, and everything ran perfectly on time. I don’t recall the name of the gentleman responsible for the transfers, but he was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. He also shared valuable information about the local history and culture, which made the experience even richer. The hotel provides thermal suits, boots, gloves, and everything needed to stay warm and comfortable. The gear is excellent and of very high quality. Breakfast was good, though not very varied. Dinner, however, was outstanding. The three-course menu, with starter, main, and dessert, was truly exceptional. We are vegetarians, and the vegan dishes were absolutely divine. Compliments to the chef for such a thoughtfully prepared menu. We noticed a clear harmony between the vegan and carnivorous options, designed to be similar in presentation and flavor, which was a remarkable detail. The menu went far beyond the usual offerings commonly found elsewhere, avoiding predictable dishes like pizza, risotto, or lentil burgers. Instead, each course was carefully crafted and adapted, creating a truly wonderful dining experience. Congratulations to the entire team.

Food is important to the service experience, even for a hotel, especially when there is nothing else to eat around accessible. The rooms are nice at Aurora Village Ivalo, the paid experiences are good. But, the food is aggressively average, bad even. Bones in ceviche, raw hard crunchy risotto rice. The nicest thing I had was the coffee out of the automated machine When you are stuck somewhere this cold, the quality of the food really is important

I don't think food is their strong suit. Room is nice though. Please note that this review is entirely focussed on the restaurant only.

Lapland itself is beautiful and we would return, but we would not stay at this property again. POSITIVES: OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES – Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing were excellent and the activity staff were great. FOOD (CHRISTMAS WEEK BUFFET ONLY) – Generally decent overall. Buffet is only selected nights. REINDEER SLEDDING – Available, but underwhelming compared to other activities. NEGATIVES: SERVICE – Very poor. Most hotel and restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful. LUGGAGE TRANSFER – Guests must carry their own luggage through snow and ice to cabins up to a 10-minute walk from reception, often in the dark given the limited sunlight at certain times of the year and no lights nor a map. ACCOMMODATION SIZE – Cabins are extremely small with very low door frames (not suitable if you’re tall). - we stayed in one of the smaller ones being 2 people only. Can’t speak for the other ones. LACK OF AMENITIES – No TV, no slippers, no minibar, and aircon temperature settings cannot be adjusted without staff entering the room. No phone in room to call reception unless you use your mobile. No room service. No room make up unless requested early in the day. Another thing to remember. DINING OPTIONS – Mostly fixed set menus with no alternatives unless you are vegan. If you have an allergy you will go hungry. VALUE FOR MONEY – Poor. It’s easy to book and your activities and food are included in the price but we expected better service for the AUD $2,000 per night odd cost and it fell well short. OVERALL: Lapland is incredible, but there are far better accommodation options offering better comfort, service, and value.
