Khatu Haveli

Super awesome experience! 😍 Loved everything, the location, food, cozy room, extremely clean washrooms, and very good and humble staff. Amazing and sweet owner. Beautiful view from the terrace. A complete package of heritage stay and feel. Must try! it's a heritage homestay

The perfect place to stay for a while if you come in Jaipur, quiet environment even outside could be noisy, rooms are spacious and comfortable, and meals so delicious. When weather is better, you can enjoy your meal on the terrace. Ideally located at 29mn walking to the famous Hawa Mahal, and bazar. The family is always attentive and helpful.

This is a wonderful oasis in the frantic Jaipur old city. It is peaceful, clean and quiet. I love staying here. ***ish is a great ***ager and can arrange ***y things. It is very close to ***y attractions and the area nearby is quite interesting too. And the breakfast is delicious!

First impressions very poor. Nobody available to let us in or meet us, once we found someone he told us to fill in paper work and he would give our passports back in half an hour, all he had to do was photocopy them so I said we would wait. Felt very unwelcome, very poor customer services, almost rude. The building is lovely and well maintained, with a roof top terrace to enjoy, a rest after a day exploring. We took our own drinks as nothing was on offer, it would be nice to be able to order drinks. Unsure if our hot water was working properly as shower started warm but soon ran cold- not good as it is a cold time of year. Some staff we met were friendly, helpful and keen to talk, which we appreciated including Prakash and Virendar. One reason we had chosen the property was after its representation on the BBC programme so it was nice to hear about their experience. Disappointingly when we saw the owner (as seen on the tv show) she didn’t seem to acknowledge us at all, or the poor service we were receiving, which seemed a shame. Trying to arrange a tuk tuk was also awkward and felt like we were a hassle. We had laundry done here- tried to give it on arrival, told to wait until the next morning so we did, but items received damp. This property has so much potential, especially having been featured on the BBC, and some helpful, friendly reception staff could really make a huge difference.

beautiful old family estate away from but close to main tourist area. Great location for walking around and exploring the local neighbourhoods.

A lovely home and so welcoming especially the 0wner and staff who catered and waited. Our 5 day stay was made the more interesting by hiring Darshan as our guide and driver. A mine of informion,good advice and fun to be with. Recommend this Haveli without reservation if you want a genuine experience in the 'real heart' of an Indian city and are prepared to forgo some of the Western niceties. Loved it Bob and Sue

We really enjoyed our stay in this haveli. Everything is very good. The breakfastroom is very beautiful (and the breakfast is good). Dinner is really good and I would recommend eating their at least once. They serve beer and gin tonics. Khatu Haveli is in a very authentic neighbourhood: ***y cows (cow dung!). And all other farm animals are there as well. For dinner/lunch we went to Niro’s, LMB, Dream hostel and Lassiwalla. All were good. But these restaurants are not near the hotel! You’ll have to walk approx half hour or take a tuk tuk (100 rs).

Awful experience with Khatu Haveli from start to finish. Had booked 3 nights stay through ********** with Khatu Haveli. On arrival at the Haveli, there was no one to greet us or collect our luggage. We proceeded to the reception area which was empty so had to ask one of the cleaners to get someone to check us in. The ***ager asked for our confirmation number and then proceeded to look for us in the system. We then saw our name written down in a notebook so assumed all ok. The owners, the brigadier and his wife then proceeded to tell us that they had no confirmation of our booking from ********** and that the Haveli was fully booked all week! We then complained and showed all confirmation details. She then proceeded to show us her “booking system “ which to our horror was a large notepad with rooms and clients written in pencil!! It’s no wonder they got our booking mixed up. We then complained to which the owners defended their position and said it’s not their fault. After debating for 10 mins, they had miraculously found a room for us. As we entered the room, one of the staff informed us that the room was actually the owners son’s room. On entering, the room was dirty, hair on bathroom floor, I cleaned bed sheets and used water bottles in fridge. We decided to stay the night as we had no where else to go. We found another hotel the next morning and paid for the nights stay and checked out in the morning. Never once did the so called brigadier or his snooty wife apologise for the mix up or even help us find alternative accommodation. We were appalled at their arrogant behaviour and their refusal to accept any mistake on their behalf. If you rely on a notepad and pencil as your main booking system, expect to encounter booking problems! Pathetic!!

We are so grateful for the outstanding service, attention to detail and care given to us by the wonderful team at Khatu Haveli. Nothing was ever too much trouble and our gracious Haveli hosts spent ***y hours sharing the history of Jaipur, the history of the family owned Haveli and their own travel experiences. We felt like we were treated as part of the family and would highly recommend this property without hesitation.
