Spotlessly clean throughout, with professional and friendly staff. The courtyard is fabulous and the overlooking balcony is our favourite place to relax with iphone or book and a glass of wine! The inside salon on the way through to the balcony is large and comfortable too. We have stayed in this Parador many times and consistently enjoy being here.

An average Parador set in an area of outstanding scenery The rooms and restaurant are both good. It has a pleasant courtyard where one can enjoy drinks and meals in fine weather. There is free private parking (not secure)

Great to experience staying in an old castle. A nice hotel although nothing special. The rooms were tired and need updating. Yes it is an old castle but that is no reason for the rooms to be in a poor state of decoration and repair. The common areas were comfortable and there were a lot of them and it was an interesting place to stay. The food and service in the restaurant were good, however unfortunately the same cannot be said about the cafeteria and bar areas. Overall the stay was satisfactory, although there was an overall lack of enthusiasm from the staff, almost as though they did not really enjoy their work and were just doing a job. This impacted on the atmosphere of the place which was a bit negative. Jarandilla de la Vera is not really of such great interest unless you are hiking or exploring the area. If that is the case then this hotel is worth staying in. They did mess up our reservation but that was quickly sorted and was not an issue. The hotel is very dog friendly, with a park nearby and plenty of places to walk. Never felt as though our dog was unwelcome and she was allowed in many of the common parts of the property. If in the area I would use this hotel again but would not make it a destination.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous room, great breakfast. The hotel's outside restaurant/cafe area is stunning and is a great spot to just sit and enjoy. Hotel allows dogs and they provide a bed and small bowl.

We have stayed in this Parador many times. It has always been excellent. The building is wonderful and staying in it takes you back to a more peaceful and relaxing time. The bedrooms are comfortably equipped. The bar and restaurant service is excellent and the food is a delight to consume.

The Parador was wonderful. I loved the history. The hotel, the room, the service were fine. But I am having a problem with the refund of 283 euros which was charged to our credit card as a deposit at the time of booking on 2/11/2023, to be returned after our stay. We stayed one night 5/2/2023-5/3/2023. We paid for our room at departure and were told the prepay would be refunded. It is now 6/3/2023. Booking is looking into the matter.

Small castle parador with lovely central courtyard/cafe. Receptionist very welcoming and carried our cases to our room which was ready when we arrived at 1pm. Robes available in room but pool sadly shut even though weather was great. Very attentive maitre d' in the reataurant. We visited in stork season so had great fun sitting on the covered lounge balcony watching the huge birds come and go from the trees opposite.

We stayed at this parador because it was pet friendly and in a good location. The pet friendly rooms are at the back of the hotel by the service area, which was noisy in the mornings. The only saving grace is that there was an outside door close to the room. It was a long way through the parador from the room up and down steps (no lifts) to the main courtyard, where the dog was allowed. The attached rules about pets are draconian and impractical. The reality is different and more amenable but still very restricted as to where the dog can be taken inside the parador.

We stayed in a number of Paradors years ago and only recently returned when they started accepting dogs. However I take issue with the €20 charge, firstly dogs are generally cleaner than kids running riot and secondly the management states it is for extra cleaning which is difficult to understand. Either the place is clean or it is not surely the housekeepers clean all surfaces irrespective, what do they not clean if a dog has not stayed? Clean means clean so are they saying it is somewhat less clean if a dog has not stayed previously? On a recent trip, we stayed in 4 Paradors in total and all were spotless. The staff were efficient and the location of 3 were excellent. When we last stayed in Paradors the food was exceptional but sadly all four were not up to expectations and from my own observations most guests had more savvy and ate elsewhere. Shame really as this was a major part of our decision to have half board. Night one Parador de Manzares Pros: Rooms clean, staff in restaurant wore masks. Cons: This should not be a Parador, it is situated by a noisy road, it lacks maintenance, lacks atmosphere and the food was disappointing. Would never stay here again. Night 2 Parador de Jarandillo de La Vera. Pros: Great location, nice size room and very clean. Cons: Food disappointing. Night 3 Parador de Guadaloupe. Pros: Really lovely Parador, Clean rooms, nice size great location, nice garden. Cons: Food disappointing. We did encounter a problem with the bathroom in that when taking a shower or using the Bidet all the water flooded into the bedroom and it took all the towels and 20 minutes to mop it up, We did not report it until our departure as it was late at night and did not want the upheaval of moving rooms. The staff were very apologetic and friendly and I accept things go wrong at times, however, I would have thought someone from management would have contacted us. Having said all that we would stay here again. Night 4 Parador de Zafra. Pros: Really lovely Parador, Cleans rooms, nice size great location. Cons: Food disappointing. Summary, we were excited at being able to take our dog who has stayed in numerous 4 and 5 star hotels. We really enjoyed the location and splendour of some of the Paradors and very much wanted to enjoy their restaurants but the silly dog charge and the disappointing restaurant food put a damper on our trip.
