Shō Hotel Penang

I booked a king-size bed for me and my daughter. The room was very big (huge huge size) and had two large air conditioners. There was also a big sofa, a table, and chairs in the room, which made it very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, and I really liked the shower because it had different water settings you could change. Every day they give two welcome drinks, and you can choose alcohol, tea, coffee, or juice. The hotel also has a kids’ play area, a gym, and a yoga room. They provide filtered water, so you can refill your bottle anytime. We ordered the smoked duck pasta and nasi lemak. The nasi lemak was really delicious. This hotel is so closed to the airport. I really loved this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed our 3-night family stay at Sho Hotel. The hotel is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. Staff service was good. Suitable for families. Will come back again!

It was the last hotel at the end of a two week trip in Malaysia. I chose it seeing it was closer to the airport. It was perfect! A spacious room in a boutique hotel, and some pampering and rest before a long flight home. Positives: - Pool, was cool and busy. - Complimentary drinks, were appreciated. - Spacious room and bathroom. - Loved the ‘Say No to Plastic’ environmental initiatives. - Cafe space, food was tasty and reasonably priced. - Staff were friendly and efficient. - Convenient Store down stairs for snack and drinks. - I asked for an extra hour for check out. It’s in a residential area, next to a busy road. So it’s not a place to explore the local area and a GRAB is needed to get around. However, a perfect STAY for the last day of holidays and it’s closer to the airport.

Service was good, as festive period so we expect a little wait. Free parking for those who drive. Overall pleased :) thank you

We came here after we flew into Penang and it was an amazing stay! Beautiful pool bar and cafe. Food was very reasonably priced for the quality and the hotel room was very big. The staff were so friendly and sweet. Will be coming back soon :)

Stayed in a Business Executive Suite during a peak festive period. Considering the hotel is still relatively new (about 2 years old), the overall experience was comfortable with a few minor teething issues. Housekeeping didn’t manage to clean the room in the morning, likely due to the busy season, but the room was serviced later in the day. Facilities were generally good — water pressure in the shower was decent, and the rain shower worked well, although the handheld shower head felt a bit basic in quality. The fridge could have been colder and doesn’t come with a freezer compartment, which would be a nice upgrade. There were a couple of small technical hiccups: the lift access card didn’t work at first, but the staff promptly replaced it with a functioning one. One air-conditioning unit was not operational, but the second unit — despite being further from the bed — was still sufficient to cool the spacious suite comfortably. One area that could use more attention is safety around common areas. There was a hammer left on the floor near the children’s playroom and some nails jutting out below a wall along the hallway outside the room, which could pose a risk of injury for young children. Hopefully this is something the hotel can address quickly. Overall, a pleasant stay with minor issues that were handled reasonably well. With some small refinements and attention to detail, the experience could be even better. ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
