Because I had to wait a day to check into the Xida dormitory, I booked a night here. The price was a bit expensive, but I was very satisfied with the location. It was only a few minutes to the student apartment, which was very convenient. The hotel rooms have balconies with great views. The staff are very enthusiastic and have a good service attitude

8. A family vacation. The view from the 7th floor is lovely. The rooms are good, featuring cable TV and streaming apps, though they lack a bathtub and a rainfall showerhead—just a standard shower. Breakfast is good; however, if the main dining room downstairs is full, guests are directed to a secondary dining room on the 4th floor—a bit of an odd arrangement. There is a good heated pool, as well as a Jacuzzi and Turkish hammam in the spa area, which stays open until 9:00 PM. A nice outdoor pool is open until 5:00 PM, with poolside food service available until 4:00 PM. Lunch and dinner options are available on the 4th floor. The hotel is large and has a somewhat peculiar layout, requiring elevator transfers, and the lobby is actually located on the 6th floor. There is a multi-level underground parking garage, though navigating from there to the lobby can be confusing at first. The furniture is heavy—dating back to the 80s—but actually quite unique; you don't see this kind of thing in modern hotels, and it has a certain charm. Whenever I called for assistance, the staff arrived and made replacements quickly. I deducted points because of the blankets in the room, which had stains—likely sweat. It’s a real shame and unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Management needs to get rid of all the old, stained blankets and buy new ones. The mattresses are very comfortable, though the air conditioning is either freezing cold or just blowing air—there’s no middle ground. It’s just a few minutes' walk to the Ammunition Hill light rail station. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised, as I had expected something worse based on the reviews; that’s why I gave it 4 stars, which is equivalent to a score of 8.

One of the worst spa experiences we have had. Poorly maintained facilities, incomplete and misleading information about the package we paid for, and extremely unprofessional customer service when we raised the issue. Absolutely not worth the money. We booked a spa-day package for two including massages, spa facilities and breakfast. We selected “breakfast outside the hotel” and specifically asked beforehand which restaurants were included, but were told this would be explained when we arrived. Only upon arrival did we discover that this was actually a voucher valid for six months at restaurants around the city, with none nearby. We had also been told that we could decide upon arrival whether to pay the difference and switch to the hotel breakfast. We arrived around 10:30 only to be told that breakfast had already finished at 10:30. How can guests be told they can decide upon arrival without being informed that one option may no longer be available? We were then told we could get coffee and croissants at the hotel cafeteria. We went there and discovered there was no food at all until 13:00. We ended up waiting until 13:00 to eat and paid extra despite breakfast being included in the package we purchased. Even worse was how the receptionist on duty at the spa handled the situation. Instead of apologizing or trying to find a solution, she became argumentative and repeatedly blamed us, saying we “should have asked” and should know that hotel breakfasts normally finish around 10. Guests visiting for the first time cannot be expected to guess a hotel’s schedules and conditions. It is the hotel’s responsibility to clearly explain the package it is selling. The receptionist also contradicted herself during the conversation. She initially indicated that she did not know exactly what had been explained during the previous phone call, but later claimed that she had been sitting next to her colleague during that call. She repeatedly mentioned retrieving the recording of the call for us to hear, to prove that we had not asked enough questions rather than focusing on resolving the issue. When I explained that reception should properly inform guests about the services they have purchased and provide a clear schedule, she responded that her job was “only to welcome you.” The facilities were disappointing too. The jacuzzi in the women’s shower area appeared to be malfunctioning. Once turned on, the water level dropped and water leaked into the surrounding area, leaving the floor covered in water. The bathrooms also did not appear properly clean. Mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is responding to a legitimate complaint by blaming the guest instead of apologizing and trying to resolve it. The only genuinely positive part was the one-hour massage, which was very good. Unfortunately, everything surrounding it was extremely disappointing. Poor service, poor communication, unprofessional staff, poorly maintained facilities and terrible value for money. I

Having stayed in all the Dan hotels throughout Israel, I regret to say this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. It appears they no longer want visitors from abroad! Upon checking in, there were no instructions other than in Hebrew - no idea of times for meals etc which continued in the room - nothing. We were given a room at least one mile from nearest lifts. Could not be changed as hotel fully booked by Israelis for Friday night. We had tried emailing several times before arrival but received no replies. Manager said they would send a wheelchair to take us to dinner - which didn't happen and would change our room after shabbat.changed room after shabbat only to find people sitting on the patio throughout the day and at 11 pm at night shouting loudly. Sunday visited pool to be told bar unavailable and no drinks or snacks available. Suggested to go to cafe where we were told only drinks available! It seems the had a large group who had taken over the area - so much for visitors from abroad - no wonder we appeared to be the only ones. Reception apologised and offered a drink and cake each to show their compensation. However when the staff came they said drinks were free - cakes to be paid for. Lights in new room went on and off. Was told it had been repaired - but happened again. Sink in room flooded the bathroom and engineer had to fix it and arrange for the room and lobby to be dried. Have travelled throughout the world extensively for over 60 years. Have NEVER known a worse hotel. Unless you want to stay for Friday night dinner and leave on Saturday do not go there. The rest of the week food is poor - lukewarm, little fruit only melon and no figs, prunes, sultanas etc. ugh ugh ugh

The hotel, situated on Mount Scopus, is very nice and the architecture of the hotel, with several lovely patios,is impressive. Spent only 1 day&night at the hotel, and enjoyed my stay there. Also, the the dinner and especially the breakfast ,with a vast selection ,were delicious. The room was a bit outdated, but other than that good

My boyfriend and I booked a spa day at Dan Jerusalem on a Saturday, paying extra for the weekend rate. We arrived early to find an overpacked car park. The parking lot supervisor advised us to park the car behind some others, and we went to the spa. 15 minutes into his massage, my boyfriend was interrupted with a request to move his car. So much for an hour of uninterrupted relaxation! The spa itself was ok, but there were no designated changing rooms and we had to get changed in a bathroom. In the snacks room, there was no coffee, just tea and warm wine (yes, the rose and white wines were warm, not on ice or in a fridge). My boyfriend's massage was not the deep tissue massage he had booked. After the massage, we thought we'd go to the dry sauna, but it seemed there were only separate men's and women's dry saunas, so we didn't go because we couldn't do it together. As for the jacuzzi, it was full. So, onto the pool - it was still early, so we thought we'd be able to get a good sunbed by the pool. However, it seemed the whole of Israel had decided to descend on the Dan Jerusalem. There were literally hundreds of people crowding the pool area. We couldn't find a sunbed and the pool itself was so packed full of people, it was impossible to swim in it. The pool area was rowdy and chaotic with loud blaring music. It was a nightmare, and we left after about 10 minutes. And to add to all of that, the place just wasn't very clean. We approached the spa and hotel management about the situation - both on the day and afterwards - but they refused to provide any kind of compensation. Awful experience never to be repeated. Do not recommend!
