Yangguan Guren Youth Hostel (Jiayuguan Guancheng Scenic Area)

I loved this hostel for its vibes - really great owners who are informative and helpful, and of course, friendly. It's literally just outside the main entrance to the museum and fort. Initially, I thought it would be really remote and out of the way, but I could reach it by public bus from the train station (though some distance away) and there are a number of restaurants around the area that are not just catered to tourists with crazy prices. There's also a restaurant attached to the hostel with good food options. Good facilities including a laundry area, a kitchen, ice machine (they use bottled water)....

Reception english friendly. Helpful when needed. Location very near to tourist attractions.

If you want to visit all the attractions in Jiayuguan I think that’s the best place to stay for a night. Very close to the bus stop from where you can get to the ticket office and start your journey. The host there knows good English and it’s easy to operate. We were given some memorable cards with the pictures of sightseeings from this area. Incredible! The beds are clean and the hostel is tidy. There’s also a cafe inside where you can grab wholesome food

The location is perfect, right at the entrance to the scenic area. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. They speak English and can provide recommendations. I think it’s a really friendly hostel, and it’s easy to make friends here. Jiejie even took us for a drive near the desert so we could get a closer view of the snow-capped mountains. It truly was a great stay!
