George Mona Smart Hotel (Jinan Railway Station North Square)

1. The window seals were really poor; I even saw tape being used to crudely patch them up. They clearly haven't bothered to properly repair them. It was incredibly cold at night. 2. The room had no heating, just a largely ineffective air conditioner. In the middle of the night, it inexplicably stopped working, and I woke up freezing. 3. The bathroom was extremely small, especially the shower area. It felt like barely one square meter. If you're showering alone and just lift your arm slightly, you hit the wall. 4. The hotel is called a 'smart hotel,' but I couldn't find anything smart about it, except for a useless sensor light in the hallway that was blindingly bright. If two people are staying, and one gets up in the middle of the night, the other is immediately woken by the light. The most frustrating part is that this light has no switch and cannot be turned off! 5. The curtains were completely ruined. One of the clips was torn off, so they didn't block any light. There were also huge gaps on the sides, making the blackout practically non-existent! 6. The most important point is that when we arrived around 3 PM, the room was a complete mess; it hadn't been cleaned at all. The cleaning staff didn't finish until almost 5 PM. We had traveled a long way and wanted to rest before going out, but opening the door to that scene honestly made me want to check out on the spot. 7. The pillows were ridiculously high, and the hotel didn't provide any extra flatter ones. My neck was killing me from sleeping on them. Seriously, folks, avoid this place. I've stayed in so many hotels, and this is my first bad review.

The room was average. Being in an apartment building, the cleanliness wasn't as good as chain hotels, but it was acceptable for the price. Prices increase significantly during holidays, so I wouldn't recommend staying there during peak seasons. However, there are many restaurants downstairs, and it's relatively close to the train station.
