Shangri-La, Hotel Jinan

Shandong is truly hospitable, and the service here is excellent. From the front desk staff to the cleaning aunties, everyone is polite. The location is superb, right by Quancheng Square. Wangfu Pool and Daming Lake are within walking distance.

Mindy from Guest Relations proactively contacted me regarding my room preferences and prepared the room accordingly. Her service attitude was excellent, thumbs up! 👍 The room offered a great view, with sights of Quancheng Square and the musical fountain ⛲️! It was clean, bright, and felt very spacious and airy.

When it comes to prime locations, no one beats the Shangri-La. Both the spring and city views are absolutely stunning. The Baotu Spring offers unique beauty in every season, and Quancheng Square is consistently spacious and prominent year-round. The hotel has been open for some years now. The public areas and facilities are still quite good, but the in-room amenities are rather outdated. The room isn't huge, and the bathroom feels a bit cramped. For the same room type, the InterContinental's bathroom design is much more practical. The in-room equipment definitely shows its age, though it's maintained reasonably well, and the cleanliness is excellent. The shower is ancient, lacking a rain shower head, and the handheld shower is difficult to use; no matter how I adjusted it, it sprayed towards the wall, making showering quite a hassle. The drainage isn't very smooth either. Even the clothes hangers are worn out but still in use. The complimentary drinking water is the cheapest kind available, and the dental kit is practically unusable. Shangri-La, can't you procure some better quality items? These aren't even expensive. Otherwise, you'll lose all your guests. I called guest services twice from the room phone, and no one picked up. It's quite surprising to encounter such a flaw in a five-star hotel. However, the overall service at Shangri-La is very good. The staff are warm, attentive, and polite. The Christmas atmosphere on the ground floor, both inside and out, is very festive. The excellent location significantly enhances the value for money at Shangri-La Jinan.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient; it's close to all the nearby attractions and shopping centers. Gavin, one of the staff members, was exceptionally warm, professional, and thorough, providing detailed information about the area. I was very satisfied with my stay.

Great location, right on the square, and not far from attractions. Other than that, absolutely no redeeming qualities. 1️⃣ Check-in took over half an hour, and that was only because I insisted. Some guests waited from morning till night and their rooms still weren't ready. The front desk was constantly dealing with complaints. 2️⃣ Understaffed, no delivery robots. My takeout order took several hours to be delivered to my room after arriving at the hotel, and only after I called multiple times. I'm truly speechless. 3️⃣ The buffet staff also had terrible attitudes, maybe they were just overworked. 4️⃣ The facilities are old and outdated.
