Don't be misled by the somewhat ornate facade of this hotel with its garish gold accents because the interior design is suitably restrained, tasteful and delightful. It offers an immersive Chinese experience with its Zen-like ambience premised on pastel shades and natural wood tones, and accessorised by bonsai decorations and traditional landscape paintings on the walls. On each floor are quaint courtyards that function as tea rooms or music rooms - these cosy respites are also designed around Chinese motifs like bamboo screens and lotus flowers. An excellent touch in the guest rooms are books on Chinese poetry and the Tao Te Ching for relaxing bedtime perusal， as well as fragrant coils to induce a meditative mood or a deep， restful sleep.
