Xiyuan Hotel (Jingdezhen Taoxichuan Wenchuang District) Reviews

The people who work in this hotel, including the breakfast staff and cleaning staff, are very nice and attentive. Absolutely no issues. They are great. What I do not like is the issue of false advertising. The room wasn't as pictured. It felt much smaller. The high def projection TV was not at all useful unless you pay money to subscribe to movies. I just wanted to watch a little CCTV news, but couldn't. I paid for the room. I don't want to pay-per-view. This region of Jingdezhen is loaded with B&B's and Homestays. This 'hotel' is more in line with a homestay. It is NOT in the tall building that is shown in the advertisement. In fact, the "hotel" is only one floor - the second floor. There are three little pegs on the wall and clothes hangars to put up your clothes. No drawers. No little bench to put your bag. No little refrigerator. This made the room less than 'livable'. The bed was good and the sheets were nice and clean. One more thing: the layout of our "with a bathtub" room was very odd: You have to walk though the shower to get to the toilet. And, the shower will wet the floor of the toilet. Strange/inconvenient/didn't think this was the best for cleanliness.

Walking distance to the popular TaoChi street. Hotel provides decent breakfast too and the stuffs are helpful.

Very welcoming hotel near the Clay Market and a lot of cheap convenience store. I was very clean and clearly new. The staff was welcoming. It's a small hotel but they have an other building really near for a nice and peaceful breakfast.

Although we booked a non-smoking room, the first room that was shown to us, smelled like just a few minutes before someone smoked in there. The second room in the morning suddenly cigarette smell came through the aircondition and it was not possible to turn it off. And we saw a little mould on one of the walls. We than got another room which was fine, but the overall cleanliness could have been better: stains on the floor e.g. I think it was a little overdone with the „electrifying“ the room, the curtains could only be opened/ closed electronically, but it was only completely opened or completely closed which is nonsense. In the second room it didn’t work anymore in the morning, so how is this helpful?

They proactively provided guides to surrounding attractions and transportation. The first impression was very good. The Xiyuan Hotel where we stayed this time is near the Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative District, and the location is simply impeccable! It takes only 5-7 minutes on foot to reach Taoxichuan’s weekend creative market and art gallery. After visiting the night market in the evening, you can take a leisurely walk back to the hotel to experience the literary and artistic atmosphere of the Porcelain Capital. Thoughtful and considerate service: The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic. She not only helped to upgrade the room type, but also gave me a travel guide. The pottery shop near the hotel is very good. The finished cups can be fired and sent home, which is very commemorative!   The surrounding area is super convenient: in addition to Taoxichuan, there are many treasures near the hotel - it takes only 15 minutes to walk to Jiuji Town (the night market snacks are superb), and it only takes 15 minutes to take a taxi to the Imperial Kiln Museum. If you are too lazy to go out, the view from the room is pretty good. You can enjoy the night view of Taoxichuan while eating local specialties. The only minor drawback is the slightly weak sound insulation, but the overall comfort and location completely make up for it. Whether you come to buy porcelain, visit exhibitions, or simply experience the literary and artistic atmosphere of Jingdezhen, this hotel is great! Next time I come to Jingdezhen, I will definitely stay here again

The hotel is conveniently located, a 10-minute walk to Taoxichuan. The room is fresh and warm, the mattress is moderately soft and hard, and the sound insulation is okay! The breakfast noodles were authentic, and the lady at the front desk enthusiastically recommended a niche pottery workshop. The price is only a few hundred dollars, which is a great value. It feels like living in a friend's house.
