The room size, cleanliness, breakfast (didn't add dinner as I don't like seafood), and all the staff were great. The surroundings were also peaceful, making for a very pleasant stay. The only thing is that it's about a 20-minute drive from the station, and the shuttle only runs around check-in/out times. So if you arrive early, there's not much to do around the station. We ended up taking a taxi in (4500 yen 🥹, since there's plenty to see and it's nice for a walk around the onsen area). Anyway, it was a good stay. I'd love to come back in a different season!

Despite booking a child's meal through Trip.com, it wasn't arranged. The hotel staff insisted they hadn't received any notification, making it sound like it was our fault. My child couldn't eat the adult meal, and the breakfast the next day was also disappointing. What shocked me the most was being lectured at check-out to 'use a Japanese travel agency.' I will never stay here again and definitely do not recommend it for families with children.

I stayed for one nights. The front desk staff and the restaurant staff were all very friendly and made for a very comfortable stay. They also gave me detailed information about recommended restaurants in the area. The large public bath was also very spacious, and from the open-air bath I could see the mountain stream through the trees. The sound of the water and the clear air were truly soothing. I expect the cold weather will continue in Yamanaka Onsen for the foreseeable future, so please take care of yourselves, and I hope all the staff members take good care of themselves.

We really loved our stay here. The staff were very helpful, the facilities were clean and well appointed. The room was large, clean and well maintained with traditional styling. The view of the river and forest was tranquil and the onsen was big and very clean with at least 2-3 hot pools, a cold plunge bath and sauna. The view from the onsen is also really beautiful. The food was also really incredible. Overall the place has a very tranquil and calming vibe. We spent four nights here but wish we could have stayed longer.

The room was incredibly spacious. The facilities, while having a traditional Japanese hotel style that's a bit dated, were exceptionally clean. The breakfast and dinner I booked were very elaborate. The staff translated and explained every dish to us, which greatly enhanced the service experience.

Kaga was my absolute favorite gem of a city during my Hokuriku trip! One day it even snowed ❄️ which was truly beautiful! I'll definitely come back to Hokuriku again next time!!!

This was a truly satisfying stay. Before checking in, I had visited Shirakawa-go and was a little disappointed not to see any snow. But then, on my first morning at the hotel, I pulled back the curtains to find it snowing heavily! It was absolutely amazing. I decided right then and there not to go anywhere and just enjoy the snow from the hotel. The hotel is a bit older, but the room was clean and tidy. I had upgraded my room, and it wasn't small at all. The area mentioned in the description probably just refers to the room itself, but the entryway was also very spacious, allowing me to easily open my large luggage. The indoor balcony in front was also quite large, perfect for a family to sit and enjoy the snow. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered direct mountain views, with the river flowing right below. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant lobby were even more stunning – it was wonderful to enjoy the snow while dining. Even the outdoor onsen provided beautiful views of the snow and river while soaking. The best part was how few people there were; both times, it was just me and my daughter, so there was no need to book a private onsen. Behind the hotel, there's a walking trail. We explored it that day, and while the heavy snow made it a bit challenging to walk, it was incredibly beautiful and completely deserted. Every photo we took was a scenic masterpiece. Our shoes and socks got wet on the way back, but thankfully, we didn't feel cold. There are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient to buy food and other necessities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. The staff were also very friendly. Although most of them didn't speak English, they used translation software, so communication was just a bit slow.

The cascading waterfall in the Yamanaka area was a stunning sight, and our tatami room was spacious and comfortable. The kaiseki meal was superb, and the onsen waters were excellent. It was a wonderful experience overall. Be sure to use the free shuttle bus from Kagaonsen Station, as the hotel is quite a distance away.

My second time staying at this hotel. This is one of my favorite hotel when it comes to onsen. We stayed at a very nice room with a bath/ofuro inside the room. There is also a massage chair that keeps me relax in a day. I love the food. Amazing food that they served. The ambience is also wonderful.
