The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right in the Tenmonkan shopping arcade. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the south pier for the high-speed ferry, the Sakurajima ferry, Kagoshima Aquarium, and Shiroyama Observatory. Plus, there are tram and bus stops right outside the hotel for easy access to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, JR Kagoshima Station, and Sengan-en Garden. The room itself was spacious and quiet, and the bed was comfortably wide.

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.
