Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel

The views were incredible! You could lie in bed and have a direct view of Sakurajima. We were lucky enough to be there during the Kagoshima Fireworks Festival, and we could watch them from the hotel rooftop without having to deal with crowds. The hotel's shuttle service to Kagoshima-Chuo and Tenmonkan was also very convenient, and there's a shopping mall nearby. Excellent value for money, I'd definitely choose this hotel again!

The Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel seems to be an older establishment, and most of its guests are Japanese seniors, which suggests it's quite popular among locals. There's a bus service connecting the hotel to Kagoshima-Chuo Station and Tenmonkan, but it's less frequent in the evenings. If you're heading back to the hotel from Tenmonkan or Kagoshima-Chuo Station at night, you'll need to plan your public transport carefully. The hotel boasts an open-air observation hot spring on the 12th floor. While not large, it's very clean and never feels crowded, even with many people using it. It also has bubble baths, a sauna, and other complete facilities. The breakfast was incredibly impressive; alongside a rich variety, it featured local Kagoshima specialties like Amami chicken rice and a generous selection of fresh fruits, such as watermelon. Overall, the hotel's location is a bit secluded, but this is offset by the convenient shuttle bus. The rooms are a good size and very clean, and the service is excellent. With its distinctive hot spring and abundant breakfast, it's definitely worth staying at.

This hotel in Kagoshima offers a fantastic experience! It comes with a free natural hot spring, where you can soak while enjoying breathtaking views of the Sakurajima volcano. The rooms are clean and tidy, the location is excellent, and the service is attentive. It was such a comfortable and rejuvenating stay, highly recommended!

The room with Sakurajima view was really nice and spacious. Blue skies and white clouds on check-in day instantly lifted my spirits. The breakfast selection was extensive, and there's a shuttle bus to and from Kagoshima-Chuo Station – just be mindful of the last bus schedule. There's a yakiniku restaurant right opposite the hotel with great value for money!

The hotel has coin-operated self-service laundry and drying facilities. This is very convenient for those on multi-day trips.

Great location, Sakurajima Volcano is right outside the window.
