Amazing stay for our entire family! We enjoyed the pool area, water slide, live music, and all the cats!

Oberall speaking, the stay is good and the kid enjoy the view and swimming pool much. Hotel location is amazing, convenient to anywhere in Kona. It is near the manta ray spot area.cleanness is also good but we do find some bugs in the room.

The breakfast was expensive and terrible. For $37, the only decent thing was the made-to-order omelets. There were only three types of fruit, a few kinds of bread, and one type of boxed yogurt. Why is such a simple breakfast so overpriced?

Hotel was okay, but not great for it's price during Christmas time. What was really bad was the service. No housekeeping, towels, etc due to "lack of workers because of the holiday season". We called and waited 4 hours until they came with towels but not housekeeping. Had to wait 2 days until housekeeping resumed.

I loved this place. I appreciated a guy bring to me hotpot at the late night when I had cold. That’s why I had good honeymoon. Oh and I thank you for the celebrated wine.

This place is amazing and it’s close to town. Worth it and it’s so mellow and peaceful unlike other resorts. Also the room we stayed was perfect!

Absolutely wonderful, we had to leave another hotel because it was terrible and then we choose Outtrigger Kona Resort and it did not disappoint. A wonderful way to spend our remaining 3 days in Kona!

The ocean view was very smoothing and relaxing. The kids loved the giant pool and the water slide and we spent a lot of time there! The pool food was better than I expected. The breakfast place was also nice. Close to many activities. We went to the open market right in front of the hotel. We did the kayaking tour that included an exciting cliff jump, and the most incredible night time manta ray experience, all short distances from the hotel. Short drive to many tourist spots. Would definitely want to come back again sometime.

When checking out, check what they charge. They may charge you for a service (e.g., a movie) that you've never used. When you point this out, they will just let you go, saying that a manager is not available and that they will email the details later, which they will never do.

We told the front desk that we wanted to see Manta, and they understood and upgraded us to the rooftop of the first floor of Manta, saying it would be more convenient to see. However, there was a huge platform outside that blocked our view and we couldn't see anything. They didn't mention that the Manta platform didn't turn on the lights in the harbor, which was always on. I don't know if they were interns or just pretenders. What's even more annoying is that because the bedside lamp didn't light up and the air conditioner was very noisy, they changed us to a room with a very bad view, and the air conditioner didn't work. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to fix it, but no one has come yet. I'm speechless. If you want a terrible experience, consider coming here☝️

We embarked on a long-awaited trip to Hawaii. Our first stop was the Big Island, which took two stops and a day to reach. We chose to stay at the Outrigger near the Kona airport because we weren't driving and it was conveniently located near a night manta ray dive. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and changed rooms once. We were assigned a third-floor oceanfront room facing the pool and slide, but the view was obstructed and noisy during the day. On our second night, we moved to the fourth floor, which was quieter and had a better view. Of the three hotels with the best ocean views, Manta 1 and 2 were better than the three Lu'ao buildings I stayed in, with direct views of the Pacific Ocean and the sunset. The breakfast at the Outrigger was lackluster, but my Chinese stomach is used to eating in the morning, so I couldn't miss it. If I were to visit the Big Island again, I'd stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Kona Town. The beach is right outside, and there's snorkeling nearby. The Chinese food in town is excellent, with fresh seafood and affordable prices. I always take an Uber from the Outrigger, and it costs $20 each way. More importantly, the stargazing tour pick-up and drop-off location is at the Courtyard by Marriott, making it perfect for those who don't drive. Oh, and I went for the manta ray night dive, which was truly breathtaking, but the waves were strong at night, so those who don't know how to swim shouldn't sign up, as you can't wear a life jacket, and the strong waves at night can be quite scary.
