Jinxu Hotel, Chikan Ancient Town

The hotel environment is comfortable and the entertainment facilities are rich. However, the breakfast selection is just average.

After booking a room that included attraction tickets in advance, I picked up the tickets at the hotel registration entrance in the North Gate parking lot. From there, I took a shuttle bus to the hotel to check in. I was able to store my luggage and explore the scenic area before officially checking into my room at 3 PM. The hotel is conveniently located next to the tram stop and close to the food street, making it easy to visit various attractions. The room facilities and breakfast were decent, and the staff were friendly and provided clear explanations.

After two days of overtime, I finally have time to vent about this hotel. I thought I'd take my child on one last trip before the summer vacation ended, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. First, let's talk about the room. At first glance, it seemed pretty good, but then, as soon as I took off my shoes, the floor was covered in dust, the sofa was broken, and there were stains on it, which they tried to hide with a pillow. I figured we had just arrived, so I'd rather go sight-seeing than bother changing rooms. But the night was when the real nightmare began. We got back to the room around 7 PM to rest, and the alarm kept ringing and ringing. I called the front desk, and they said they'd take care of it, but it took half an hour for someone to show up, and no one offered any apology. I thought, 'We're leaving tomorrow anyway, so I'll just put up with it.' But then, from 12 AM to 1 AM, the damn alarm kept ringing, waking everyone in the room. I went to the front desk in the middle of the night to find someone, and all the receptionist could say was, 'Oh, I'm sorry, someone will come to deal with it.' I couldn't take it anymore, so I kept pressing the alarm button for a while until the sound finally stopped. It took another ten minutes for someone to arrive. I couldn't see where the good service was that the short videos raved about; it's probably only for those with cameras. The next day at breakfast, my child is quite tall, about 1.43 meters and in second grade. When we went for breakfast, the person at the entrance started blabbering on and on. I hadn't slept well the night before, so I didn't even bother arguing. At check-out, I complained again about the noise and all these other annoying things, but the front desk just kept saying 'I'm sorry,' with no compensation whatsoever. Anyway, it's a terrible hotel, the facilities are bad, and the service is bad. After complaining about the room, let me complain about the children's play facilities. There are two outdoor pools for water play. Any parent knows that you need to be clean when playing in the water. One pool was covered in floating leaves and all sorts of dirt, while the other was barely acceptable and relatively cleaner. I directly told my child not to go into the water because it was so dirty. The indoor pool's water wasn't clear, either. It looked a bit discolored, I'm not sure if it wasn't filled enough or what.

Complimentary shuttle bus service for one round trip within the scenic area. Burger King - Family Meal: Just right for three people as an afternoon snack. This room type is perfectly fine for three people, and you don't need to buy extra admission tickets. However, there are too many guests staying in Buildings 1 and 2. The breakfast area should open more dining halls; it took us a long time to find a seat after entering. They should implement crowd control or queuing!

The room was very clean, and it was super convenient to get around. So comfortable, highly recommended!

The scenic area inside is quite nice, but the shuttle bus only allows one ride. Also, check-in isn't until 3 PM, and there are too few service counters, so we waited over half an hour to check in. For the family room my relatives stayed in, it seems the toilet pipe was blocked and leaked, flooding the entire bathroom with dirty water. It was absolutely disgusting. When we reported it to the hotel, they just said they knew and would send someone to fix it after we checked out. I booked three rooms in total, and we had to go to another room to get ready the next day. For a room costing over a thousand, this service is unacceptable.

The breakfast had limited meat options and wasn't very substantial. It also lacked local Jiangmen specialties.

The Goldmine Hotel is centrally located in the ancient town, making it very convenient to catch a show at the theater. The hotel has a children's splash park on the first floor, which is perfect for kids. Across from the hotel, the Modern Theater also has a children's playground on its first floor with slides and a ball pit. Our Super Wings themed room was right next to the water park, so it was a bit noisy compared to other floors due to the high foot traffic. Overall, the ancient town offers a fantastic array of activities; we couldn't even cover everything in our two-day-one-night stay. We'll definitely be back!

For a room rate of 1380 per night, the hygiene and amenities are completely unacceptable. The room was moldy in various spots, and the blanket was so dirty it caused a skin allergy. The cutlery in the restaurant was wet and dirty, clearly not sanitized. Parents traveling with children should definitely reconsider staying here.
