Taru Villas Kandy

Very nice stay. Staff were great. Breakfast and dinner included, which I enjoyed. I think this is worth it if you can get a deal via one of the booking sites, it's quite pricey compared to other more conveniently situated properties in Kandy. It's a very unique boutique hotel, beautiful and comfortable with great service. The only gripe I would have is the shower...it's a small hot water tank, so you can have a max 10 minute shower before the water runs cold. You then have to wait 10mins before the water heater heats the water back up. Other reviews complain about the noise from the road and rail track, but we didn't hear a single train during our 2 night stay and the road didn't bother us at all.

A wonderful, authentic place in a historic building. Beautifully and tastefully restored, with warm and attentive service and excellent food. We felt completely at home and would highly recommend Taru Villas.

Beautiful property, genuine service, very bad location , next to a major road and can hear car/ truck traffic all day long. Rooms are too close to the restaurant area which made it very noisy early in the morning if you wish to sleep.

Looking for a beautiful restored estate home with impeccable service and delicious dining? Choose Taru Villa!  We spent three days exploring Kandy and neighboring region. The hotel is tucked behind some commercial buildings, but once the gates open and you move up the driveway, it all fades away. The hotel is elegant with an attention to details. Each space is carefully arranged to make you feel comfortable.  The staff are what really makes Taru Villa shine. Led by the hotel manager, the staff are welcoming and warm. You couldn’t ask for anything more. The food was excellent. The conversation was even better. We highly recommend to anyone. Well done Taru Villa, well done!
