Villa Avora Ridge

The hotel view is incredible, day and night. It's close to everything, yet perched on a hill to avoid the crowds. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is hearty. Our host and his family were very welcoming, always smiling, and ready to offer their assistance.

I tried to connect to the Wi-Fi, and it showed full bars, but for some reason, it wouldn't connect. I was given watermelon juice as a welcome drink. It seemed like the room was on the second floor of a wealthy individual's private home at the top of a hill, rented out. The road up the hill was very narrow; even with a chartered car, it was terrifyingly tight. A lot of fuzz was shedding from the blanket, and at first, I thought it was insects. The towels seemed to have been washed but weren't clean. Regarding amenities, there were no labels, so I couldn't tell if it was shampoo or body wash. There was no hairdryer. The fan was on, which made for a comfortable stay.

The location was a bit inconvenient, but the staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. (You could choose between English and Sri Lankan cuisine.)
