Nice little hotel, with only some rooms and as the name says in the hills. Room is good and clean with interesting bathroom 😊 . Mostly important, fabulous views from the balcony, fantastic nature, good breakfast and very polite service. Lovely stay.

We arrived after a long train journey and were picked up by a tuktuk driver named Ruwan, a warm and funny gentleman So we decided to ask him if he could drive us around he showed us so many lovley temples snd shops. In the hotel we had the best view seeing the temple and the river the breakfast was nice And the staff very friendly Highly recommend this

The good:
1. Owner and cook are nice people.
2. Good view from the room.
The bad:
1. You are at the mercy of the staff as this is a remote place.
2. They charged a lot for a very basic breakfast, almost 5 times what you would get outside for better food.
3. No air conditioning and dirty rooms. There was a dead frog in our bathroom. Dust bin was very dirty.
4. The view was blocked by trees.
5. No telephone or credit card in this hotel. They want only cash.
There are other properties nearby that seem to be well-maintained. The staff was very nice.

We had an incredible stay at Redhill. Even though we stayed there for B&B only, the hosts went all out on their hospitality and the host's wife, who was a doctor, was very kind enough to check on my son who got sick that day. They also let us stay there for several more hours after checkout time until my son felt better. We went to Redhill for the views, but we received much more than that. Breakfast was also great and the rooms were clean. Highly satisfied with the stay and would definitely visit again!

Originally booked for one night, however on arrival I was unwell. Chulanka could not of been more helpful. He arranged transport to the hospital and went with us and stayed until he knew what was wrong. He then returned three hours later to collect us and take us back to Red Hill. He had prepared chicken soup especially for me, although no appetite it was lovely and very welcome. In Addition he prepared another meal for my travelling companion. We decided to stay another day to rest and were looked after by Chulanka and his staff. They went out of their way to ensure I had everything needed preparing tea to drink and king coconut for health !!! We appreciated the kindness of both Chulanka and his staff and would recommend Red Hill Kandy for its hospitality, kindness and food. Fantastic views of Kandy for the bedroom not to be missed, as well as comfortable and welcoming.

We stayed for one night as a stop off in Kandy.. the owner and his wife were very friendly and nice. They arranged for a tuk tuk to take and pick us up when we went into Kandy and were very accommodating in doing our breakfast for 6am as we had an early start. Nothing will come close to the view when you wake up and see the mist it is breathtaking There was an ant problem in the bathroom but you could see they had put powder down to try and sort it. The rooms were a little old and dated but the beds were comfy and the wifi was surprisingly good considering how remote we were. Would definitely recommend for the view alone

Pros: 1. Fantastic view. 2. Good breakfast. 3. Helpful staff. Cons; 1. Lots of insects, small lizards 🦎, spiders, and ants. 2. Very old construction that its ceiling made if wood filled with holes and insects nests. 3. Bad, old and dirty furniture. 4. Rooms had no a.c or ceiling fan just old stand fan and no metal web for the window so you cannot have natural ventilation. 5. We booked 2 rooms with the same type and view. However, we got 2 totally different rooms one of them without any view and paid the same amount of money. 6. We checked out before our check out date because of the uncleanness and we didn't ask for our money. However, the owner cancelled our reservation on booking inorder not to be able to write bad review about his hotel. 7. No hot water. 8. We spent 3 nights with no house keeping, changing towels or even giving us water.

The property is hosted by Chulanka and his family and they were very accommodative and friendly. We found the rooms to be spacious and pleasant, the view from the balcony is breathtaking. We were also served with a scrumptious breakfast spread. Overall it was a great stay at Redhill Kandy and would highly recommend it.

Nowhere else, even on the same hill, can compare to the view here. Plus Chulanka and his family/staff are properly lovely and helpful. It's a fair walk to Kandy town but you'll be sorted a cheap tuktuk whenever you want one. More than worth staying in the location. Easy 5 stars.
