Having just completed the 318 National Highway loop, Xinduqiao was my last stop. I had hoped to relax and enjoy Atour's delicious breakfast again, but the Xinduqiao Atour gave me a truly disappointing experience that ruined my brand image.
First, let me explain why I chose Atour. My previous experience at Atour in Lhasa was excellent; both the service and product quality left a deep impression. Based on that positive experience, I chose Atour again in Xinduqiao, even paying extra for breakfast. I'm a platinum member at other brands, which entitles me to free breakfast, but I opted against those options because of my trust in Atour's experience in Lhasa. However, this time, the Xinduqiao Atour experience was a disaster.
Firstly, the laundry room experience was extremely poor, and my clothes were contaminated with an unpleasant odor: After checking in that evening, I prepared to wash the clothes I had worn over the past few days. Before I even started washing, the washing machine was dripping water, I don't know if it was water stains left by the previous guest or a machine malfunction. While washing, I could already smell a very unpleasant odor, like crab or the stench of fermenting clothes. Even after drying, the clothes still had a noticeable odor.
Secondly, the soundproofing was extremely poor, affecting my rest: Early that morning and around 9 am, I could clearly hear sounds of "preparing for pregnancy" from the next room. Of course, that's their freedom, but for a hotel, such poor soundproofing is unacceptable. Incidentally, this guy only lasted a minute or two each time; by the time I tried to knock, there was no response.
Thirdly, the breakfast experience was terrible: When I went for breakfast around 9 am, there was practically nothing left. I only got a little fruit (the cantaloupe was fermented and had an alcoholic smell), a bowl of noodles, a bowl of porridge, and a cup of cold butter tea. The noodles had almost no side dishes, no meat, and the so-called pickled mustard greens and shredded pork were just pickled mustard greens. The bamboo shoot and beef stew was just bamboo shoots, which was incredibly bad, indescribably bad. Even worse was the dining environment and the staff's behavior. I was carrying a large bowl of soupy noodles down the aisle when I encountered a staff member, and I had to give way to them, but they showed no consideration whatsoever. During the meal, the kitchen staff were whistling, seemingly excited about something. This breakfast was terrible in terms of food, service, and overall experience.
Fourthly, the front desk service was extremely unprofessional: I ate a little porridge and went back to my room to leave. While in the elevator, the alarm sounded, so I went to the front desk to inquire. The female receptionist coldly asked me, "Do you have the medium-colored card?" I was stunned and didn't understand what a "medium-colored card" was. She then produced a brown card. I replied that I might have this card (because the previous day, when I checked in, the front desk gave me two white cards (electricity cards) and one brown card (room card). Before leaving, I specifically confirmed that there were two white cards; normally, people would assume two room cards and one electricity card. I didn't expect the Xinduqiao Atour to do the opposite, giving me two electricity cards, effectively trapping me downstairs). Throughout the entire process, she was extremely impatient and eventually gave me a new room card. I believe I did nothing rude and never offended her; as a service industry professional, she shouldn't have acted this way.
Based on all the above experiences, the Atour Hotel Xinduqiao has serious problems in several aspects, including laundry management, soundproofing, breakfast quality, and front desk service. This stay experience has left me utterly disappointed and has led me to make a clear decision: I will never choose the Atour brand again.
