Retro Kaohsiung

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's super convenient for both the MRT and the night market. They even have a designated parking lot. The room was quite spacious, clean, and tidy, with bright lighting. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The value for money is incredibly high, simply amazing!

The location is great, close to Formosa Boulevard MRT station, making transportation very convenient. There are also plenty of food and drink options nearby, and Liuhe Night Market is within walking distance. For the price, it offers really good value for money. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great. However, if I visit Kaohsiung again, I'd still choose to stay here! 🤭

I stayed for 6 days and 5 nights. All the staff were friendly, and the room condition was good. It was a bit annoying that you had to specifically request room cleaning in advance for it to happen. It would be much better if they had a 'do not disturb/please clean' sign system to hang on the doorknob. Also, the laundry room was actually unavailable, so I was directed to a laundromat about 3 minutes away. That was a real shame, but I managed to get my laundry done in the end. Other than that, I didn't experience any inconvenience during my 6-day stay. Just a heads-up, there's a microwave in the lobby on the first floor. For the in-room air conditioning, you can adjust the intensity or turn it off completely using the light switch. Given that Taiwan is notorious for extremely loud scooters, definitely bring earplugs! Your sleep quality will suffer greatly without them. Remember, earplugs! Overall, I was satisfied with the room itself, and the location was also great.

Easy to find the place, and it's less than a 10-minute slow walk from Formosa Boulevard Station! You can also leave your luggage after checking out. It's really close to Liuhe Night Market, and there's parking for scooters too. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Out of all the hotels I stayed at during my week-long trip to Taiwan, this one offered the best value for money. Not only is the location excellent, being close to Liuhe Night Market, but the exterior, interior, and room itself all felt like an incredible deal for the price. I had a very comfortable stay and this hotel has become my top choice for future visits to Kaohsiung.

Excellent value for money! They have a partner parking lot right next door, which is free of charge. No breakfast, but for a Saturday night, a quad room was just over three thousand. It's also a short walk to Liuhe Night Market. The room was clean. I'm not sure about the soundproofing, but it was quiet, perhaps because there weren't many people around, so I didn't find it noisy at all.

The hotel's location is excellent, just an 8-minute walk from Exit 2 of Formosa Boulevard Station. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom had a bathtub but no shower curtain or hooks, which was quite inconvenient. Also, the hotel's emergency maintenance notices need improvement; they shouldn't call the room at 9 AM.

The location is great, and I especially loved how spacious the room was. There were many positives, but if I had to pick two drawbacks, it would be the ambulance sirens. It seemed like there was a big hospital nearby because I heard them frequently, even late at night. Also, despite the large room size, there weren't many power outlets. Aside from those two things, everything else was satisfactory. I recommend it for your stay in Kaohsiung.

Much better than expected! The room was clean and spacious, no issues there. I'd suggest adding a shower curtain to the bathtub to create a wet/dry separation. Other than that, everything was great, and I'll definitely consider staying here again!
