Hotels in Liuhe Night Market/Formosa Boulevard Station, Kaohsiung

Location is great, just 5 min walk from Formosa subway station. Rooms are decent size, though the furniture are a little aged. The air con is quite erratic. Breakfast has limited variety but tasted great. Perhaps the most commendable feature of this hotel is the free ice cream, coffee and snacks bar at the restaurant for guests. Nice place for us to gather and have supper.

Downsides: 1. The toilet stank to high heaven. Every time I walked past, it was like entering a gas chamber – truly awful. 2. No refunds for early check-out. For example, if you book for four days and leave two days early, you won't get your money back. 3. Breakfast was incredibly basic, just half a slice of toast with jam. 4. There's only one large dining table, and you might encounter strange guests who could bother you. It’s better to just eat out. Upsides: 1. It's very close to Formosa Boulevard MRT Station, Exit 8. However, if you're not specifically looking for a place near Formosa Boulevard, there are better hostels in Kaohsiung for the same price and standard. If you do choose this one, I'd recommend staying for just one night. Staying two or more nights feels like you're getting ripped off.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I heard online that it was renovated in 2025, so the facilities are very new and well-maintained. I even spotted an unused electrical box in the bathroom (it seems like they either pulled the wires for an outlet and left it there, or the renovation crew forgot to install the wiring in the bathroom). Overall, I had a good feeling about the place. I stayed in a superior double room. The bed was on a raised stone platform about five inches high, but it would have been more comfortable if the platform had carpeting. The bathtub faucet was quite slow; it took about 20 minutes or more to fill the tub. Honestly, I'd probably fall asleep waiting for it to fill, and it almost overflowed! This is the first hotel I've stayed in where the in-room refrigerator was a half-height, household-style fridge, and its cooling performance was excellent. That's definitely worth praising. I almost forgot to mention: I had some business to attend to in Tainan that day, so I couldn't check in before their 9 PM cutoff. I contacted them immediately, and they were able to process my check-in in advance. The key card was left at the front desk for me to pick up myself. They also offered luggage storage when I left. The service attitude was quite good, but it's a shame there's no restroom in the lobby! As for the location, it's quite convenient, right off the beautiful Island MRT station. Overall, I'm satisfied, and it definitely improved my impression. One quick note: the hotel is very close to Liuhe Night Market, just two blocks away, which is super convenient. There's also a FamilyMart and 7-Eleven nearby, so you won't go hungry! 🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻

The location is excellent! We arrived quite late in Kaohsiung after work, and had informed the hotel in advance. The staff were very friendly when we checked in and explained everything thoroughly. The room was clean, though the bathroom felt a bit small despite having a bathtub. All other amenities were great. If I come back to Kaohsiung, I'll definitely prioritize staying here again.

Really a good place to stay. Been here for many times already and will keep on coming back. Breakfast is really awesome. Staffs are very approachable and kind. They always smile ☺️ PS. Lot of Filipinos staying there. 😅

pros: - accessible to central park station which is red line straight to zuoying station for hsr - opp central park for the xmas market - 10 mins walk to liuhe night market - 5 mins walknto shinkuchan street - lounge with excellent side dishes and snacks with free draft beer in the noon and night. - staff are very friendly and helpful -gave a free bag of bakery upon checkin - late checkout at 12pm cons: - no washing machine on site - no toothbrush provided (think it is a norm across taiwan) - seating area in lounge limited especially during happy hours

My friend and I stayed here to catch two consecutive ITZY concerts. Just the fact that the hotel didn't drastically raise its prices during that time already deserves a thumbs up! 👍 The location is quite convenient for public transport, being about an 8-minute walk from Central Park Station. There's a McDonald's, convenience stores, and the Xinjuejiang business district nearby. Everything in the room was great, but I do wish the bathroom had hand soap or a hand wash. That way, I wouldn't have to use the body wash instead.

The location is near to metro station, just need to follow GPS to find the hotel. They have a reception but check in and check out are self service using a machine at the lobby, very convenient. Rooms are quite spacious and clean, the hotel have a lift. Room have kettle. Walking distance to night market.

Location: Conveniently located at the beginning of the night market street, so it's not noisy. The closest MRT exit is 11, but it only has stairs. Exit 1 has escalators, and the distance is about the same; it just moves the 100-meter walk from underground to street level. The actual address was different from what was listed online by a small alley, and I had trouble finding it. I had to call the front desk in the end. It's located between Watsons and Cosmed. Service: The staff were friendly, and there's a luggage storage service. Room: No unpleasant odors. The air conditioning was sufficient. The lighting for the bathroom mirror was blocked, making it hard to see clearly. There was no night light in the room. The triple room was a bit small, with just enough space to open one large suitcase. I kept finding several ants on the table. The hairdryer's wires were exposed. Summary: There were only a few minor issues, but it's a hotel with good value for money. I would stay here again if I visit Kaohsiung in the future.

We enjoyed our stay and were honoured to be invited by the hotel to celebrate the New Year Eve Party with a complimentary dinner at the Wok Restaurant on Level 2 and a count down and welcome 2026 party with free flow drinks at the Rooftop Bar. We watched the fireworks at the stroke of midnight from the Bar with great music, beautiful view and lovely guests! It was a fantastic end to 2025 and the memories will stay in us forever! Thank you Hotel Indigo Kaoshiung for the wonderful and memorable stay. Everything from the hotel staff to the room amenities were top notch! We will certainly recommend your hotel and will definitely stay here when we visit Kaoshiung again.
