Stayed for 3 nights and it's been an amazing experience. Firstly it's a charming hotel with loads of old world charm, from decor to staff uniform, immediately switch us on holiday mode. Staff can speak adequate English and always try their best to provide good service. Hotel grounds are amazing with wedding chapels, manicured gardens, Onsen, viewpoint, etc. Breakfast and dinner are amazing too. The only tiny cons is that resort hotel location is quite secluded, but we didn't mind as we self drive and we like the privacy. If you want a place to switch off for a few days, this would be a perfect hotel.

Staying in Karuizawa during summer was truly delightful. Strolling through the hotel's public areas, I was enchanted by the hydrangeas, roses, and other blooming flowers – absolutely beautiful. The hotel features two onsen baths, both worth trying for their distinct experiences. Both breakfast and dinner were exquisite and highly recommended. The room was surprisingly spacious, complete with a small balcony, and I personally loved its classic decor.

Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel & Resort is a perfect place for great views, relaxation and luxury retreat. We stayed on the top of the resort where the view of the Asama Mountain is breathtaking. The room is spacious but cozy. The dinners were very good. We stayed two nights (half board), the two fine-dining French dinners with local ingredients we had were superb. The courses served at the dinners didn’t have any repeat. I will definitely come here again for other seasons.

Feels like you are in a harry potter movie. Property is large you can go for a walk in the morning with the birds chirping. Rooms are also massive in size.

Highly recommend! This is the best hotel in Karuizawa. The hotel has a very understated European style, and it took me quite a while to find the lobby. 😂😂😂 The room is huge; for this price point, it might just be the biggest room in all of Japan. The hotel is famous for its Western cuisine. Dinner and breakfast for three people only cost a little over 5000 RMB. If I ever come back to Karuizawa, I'll definitely be staying here again.
