Hotel Karuizawa Cross

I stayed for one night without meals. The location was very convenient, right near Old Karuizawa, and parking was available. The room was very clean, and they quickly brought us any amenities we requested. The room had a stylish atmosphere; it would have been perfect if it had a bathtub!

Overall, it's a worthwhile hotel to stay at. Facilities: Having been open for about ten years, it's still relatively new, and the rooms are quite spacious. Cleanliness: For Japan, known for its cleanliness, it's just average. Environment: The surrounding area is beautiful. Service: The attitude is good.

Highly recommend! The front desk service was excellent, they told us how to get to the attractions, timetables, and so on. The room was very new, and the facilities were great. The bunk beds could accommodate several people. Transportation was convenient, with the station nearby, but the bus frequency was quite low. If you plan your time well, you can still reach the main attractions.

The room was also very spacious and clean, which we were very happy with! The location right in the shopping street was also great! However, it was a shame that we couldn't open the curtains in our room even in the morning, as many people walk by and can easily see into the room from outside.

The location is great, right in Old Karuizawa, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions.

Super satisfied! Karuizawa truly lives up to its reputation as a resort destination. In early August, the temperature was probably under 20 degrees Celsius, and the mountain air was so refreshing. The hotel staff were excellent – very friendly and enthusiastic, always ready to help with anything. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located in the old Ginza Center. A taxi ride to the hotel at night cost us about 1100 yen. The lobby is on the second floor, with restaurants and shops on the first floor. We arrived at night and took the elevator to the second floor to check-in. The staff were all very enthusiastic. When we asked for dinner recommendations, they eagerly suggested places and even offered us hotel discount coupons. The lobby's decor perfectly matched the charming cabin style, creating a very comfortable ambiance. The cabin-style room decor was beautiful and cozy. It felt very spacious; we could open two 28-inch suitcases on the floor without any issues getting around. The room had a shower, no bathtub. We stayed in D6, and the view outside the window was lovely. It wasn't too close to neighbors and there wasn't much disturbance. We tried the hotel's Japanese breakfast one day, priced at 2200 yen per person. It was very exquisite and delicious. Opposite the hotel is the red-roofed St. Paul's Catholic Church. If you want to go to the Prince Hotel Outlet, it's about a 30-minute walk or a 7-10 minute taxi ride. Staying at this hotel is more convenient if you're self-driving or using taxis, which is what we did for transportation. A taxi ride to the Christmas illumination event next to Hoshino Resorts cost about 3500 yen.

If you're planning to spend some quality time near Church Street, this place is super convenient. It's not the hotel's fault, but there aren't any convenience stores around Church Street itself. The train station is about a 30-minute walk away. Parking is free at the Church Street parking lot for the duration of your stay. The rooms are clean with non-carpeted floors, and the bathrooms are spacious and spotless.
