We changed to this room type at Fufu Tranquil Forest Hotel for our second night, and it was also very nice. The room was spacious, and the staff thoughtfully arranged for us to stay in the same room as last night. The warm smiles of the hotel staff left a very good impression on us. We will definitely choose Tranquil Forest Hotel again next time we come to Karuizawa. Highly recommended!

Thank you very much for your hospitality this time. Although I checked in late, I was very satisfied with breakfast the next day, as well as the hotel cafe and sightseeing. I had a wonderful time at Mampei Hotel, a place I'd always wanted to stay at. The room was, of course, meticulously cleaned, and the staff were all polite and professional, as you'd expect. This is a hotel I'd like to return to every year, and would also like to recommend to my friends. All the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The hotel is brand new. The room is lovely and so spacious! The bed was huge and it was comfortable, we all slept well every night. Staff were courteous and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel location is also perfect, right on old karuizawa ginza street with many food and shopping options nearby during the day. The breakfast options were very limited and the food was the same every day, so I found it a challenge to feed my toddler. Basic food items like cereal and slice bread were not available. The fruit options were also limited and not the most child friendly e.g. pineapple, grapefruit and grapes. Also, the rooms are not made every day but you can request for the staff to clean and make the room. Overall we still had a great stay and hope to visit again soon.

A lovely hotel with cozy atmosphere. Big room and comfortable bed. They provide the most comfortable shower I have ever experienced during my entire trip. Sitting in their reading room with a scenic view was really enjoyable .

Our one-night stay at Hotel Karuizawa Cross was absolutely wonderful! The Superior Bunk Room was perfect for our group of six—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed to ensure everyone had a comfortable and cozy space to rest. The bunk beds were sturdy and well-maintained, and the room had a warm, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. While the breakfast options were simple and limited, the quality and taste more than made up for it. The homely, delicious meal was a great way to start our day, and it felt like we were enjoying a homemade breakfast prepared with care. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming vibe of the hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Hotel Karuizawa Cross to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to visit again!

Stayed in a presidential suite and the room was super spacious, equipped with all kitchenwares, washing machine available. Hotel's surrounding was a peaceful golfyard.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was immaculate, with breathtaking snow views. Delicious breakfast and convenient location. Highly recommend for both business and leisure travelers. Will definitely return!

Hotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day. Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

We spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere. I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience. The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery. The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge. Was I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!

We stayed at Karuizawa. The accommodation was reasonably priced and comfortable. They have various room types, but we chose a ryokan-style room which involved sharing a bathroom, but there were plenty of facilities and it was very convenient. Regular rooms also have private bathrooms. It's conveniently located for walking to nearby attractions. The only thing we didn't have was hot water. They actually have an onsen (hot spring), which would have been perfect if it had hot water especially with the single-digit temperatures like that, I highly recommend it to anyone interested.
