Room is fine, bathroom is highly outdated and not really kept clean for ages. Reception did not inform us about the water quality. Of course we know that in many places this is not drinkable, but very yellow/brown water to flush the toilet was a surprise to us. It looked like someone had not flushed the toilet and the toilet had not been cleaned after the previous guest. At night some animals (mice?, squirrels?) were running in our ceiling. In the restaurant the sewage was smelling terrible, you loose your apetite immediately. The personel was aware of the problem but the management didn't solve it. We didn't have diner there and went to an Italian restaurant nearby (which was lovely!). Breakfast is below average with burned toast and one type of jam. But it was nice that they served some fresh fruits! There is not much to choose from in Kasane, therefore maybe better to find a lodge outside Kasane (there are plenty).

We spent two nights in The Old House and we had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are in a kind of tropical surrounding. Dinner and Breakfast have been extraordinary. The service was anticipate and friendly. We highly recommend this Hotel.

What a BAD service at this hotel. We had a voucher for a private transfer at 10, but the hotel said the transfer was at 07:00/07:30 am. So we didn’t go on safari…. Then in the morning we are at 7 at the reception. No one there, when they open at 7:30 am they tell us the transfer is at 10. Their fault but no service in trying to solve it. The reception is already closed at 5pm and opens at 07:30am in the morning. How is that possible for an hotel?!?! The breakfast and dinner was not really good. We booked a boat trip that should last 3 hours but they were back earlier, when there we sooo many animals to see. First safari trip that was cut short on our 3 week holiday. Rooms are tiny. Definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone!!!!!

What an incredible place. Really enjoyed my stay here. Fantastic food, great setting, super friendly and welcoming staff, comfy beds and really speedy laundry. Really hope to be back at the Old House soon.

Was really nice staying at the Old House. Management was on it when we had problems with our aircon. I think the gardens need attention!😐

Charming fun to stay at and overall very nice but should offer better WiFi to all rooms & small spray bottle of repellent like other places.

I’ve have stayed here a number of times, it’s a wonderful, friendly, beautiful, clean, comfortable place to stay. Its position on the river is awesome. Plenty of choices of great food, including a delicious breakfast! The activities available are many and varied and well organised.
